Special Note: Prior to 1972, only first place times were typically reported. This means that there may be a name or two that deserved to be on these lists that are not due to the lack of information. If anyone has access to full results from 1914-1971, please forward them to us and we'll be glad to include them in this listing.
Special Note: The boys 4x100 time for Woodrow Wilson in 1987 is perplexing. The finals time of 43.15 is not in question, but the trials time is a matter of debate. In the 1995 State Meet Program, the State Record time is listed as 42.69 for that team. However, in the Parkersburg, Beckley and Wheeling papers, the trials time is all listed as 42.26. That means something is off somewhere, either the state meet program was incorrect or the information provided to the newspapers were incorrect. Since the preponderance of evidence supports the 42.26, that is the numbe we have elected to include in this listing.
