Hello Coaches,

I'm sure most of you are already aware of a new NCAA Rule for the 2007-08 school year…But just in case I thought I would forward information regarding the NCAA Clearinghouse as it pertains to the recruiting process.  On August 1st the NCAA enacted a new rule that requires all prospective student-athletes to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse prior to making an Official Visit to a University campus.  I copied the following from the NCAA Clearinghouse web site:

"In order for you (a student) to participate in athletics at the collegiate level you must register with the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse and meet academic and amateurism eligibility standards. In order to register with the Clearinghouse, you must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number and a MasterCard or VISA (debit or credit) card. If you do not have a credit or debit card, you may register using a check or money order by following the instructions in Section VII of this registration form. If you received a fee waiver for the ACT or SAT exam and are requesting a waiver of the Clearinghouse fee, you may indicate this in Section VII. NOTE that your registration will not be processed until the Clearinghouse receives a fee waiver confirmation from your high school counselor. If you are seeking a fee waiver, you should talk to your high school counselor to determine if you are eligible for the fee waiver. If so, your counselor will need to submit a fee waiver confirmation for you. High school counselors who have been issued a secure PIN may submit such confirmations through the High School Administrators section of the website. "

This information is merely to make you aware of the new rule so that you can have your athletes register if they have not already done so.  Here is a link to the NCAA Clearinghouse Registration:  https://www.ncaaclearinghouse.net/NCAA/student/index_student.html

Once again, we thank each of you for your support and the information we have received regarding your athletes…

My best regards,

Steve Taylor
