Jasmine Cotton ran for the Capital City Striders youth track & field club in Charleston, West Virginia.

·         Ran for Coach Charlie Linkous at Fayetteville High

·         West Virginia State Meet record holder for Class ‘A’ Girls in 100-meters (12.42), 400-meters (56.84), and long jump (17-10.25) from May 2006 to present

·         Fourteen-time All-State selection in track & field 

·         Coalfield Conference Athlete of the Year as a senior

·         Won state championship in 100-meters (12.42), 400-meters (56.84), and long jump (17-10.25) as senior, while third in 800-meters (2:28.85)

·         State champ in 200-meters (26.14) as junior, while runner-up in 100-meters (12.63) and 400-meters (1:00.04)

·         State champion in 400-meters (1:00.13) as a sophomore, while runner-up in 200-meters (12.98)

·         Won state championship in 100-meters (12.55), 400-meters (59.18), and 800-meters (2:29.89) as a freshman, while runner-up in 200-meters (26.35)

2007: Narrowly missed winning the pentathlon at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships, finishing three points behind teammate Boudine Bouma ... finished fourth in the heptathlon at the USATF Junior National Championships ... finished sixth in the pentathlon (3485) at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships ... qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the long jump ... finished second in the heptathlon (4878) at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships ... posted a season-best 18' 11-1/2" long jump at the Alabama Relays.

2008: Missed most of the 2008 season due to injury.

2009 Indoor: ... hit the NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the pentathlon and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the high jump ... set school records in the pentathlon (4073) and the long jump (19' 09") ... named the BIG EAST Most Outstanding Field Performer after winning the pentathlon, placing fourth in the long jump, and placing fifth in the high jump ... won the All-Ohio Championships in the pentathlon.

2009 Outdoor: Finished 18th at the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon with a score of 5,286 ... notched a NCAA provisional mark at the Alabama Relays with a heptathlon score of 5,321, the fifth-best mark in school history ... leapt a personal-best 6' 0" in the high jump to finish first at the Southern Ohio Cup ... ended the BIG EAST Championships third in the heptathlon with a final tally of 4,859.

2010 Indoor: Qualified for NCAA championships in pentathlon ... set long jump school record with a jump of 20' 1-1/2" ... Rod McCravy champion in high jump with mark of 5' 10" ... placed at BIG EAST Championships in long jump and pentathlon.

2010 Outdoor: Redshirted.

2011: Medical Redshirt.

2012: Broke the school record for Indoor Pentathlon which was previously set by her. Named the BIG EAST Most Outstanding Field Performer at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships.

2012 Outdoor: Cotten withdraws from NCAA Outdoor Championships due to injury.
