Here are our completely UNOFFICIAL TRACK RANKINGS. These rankings are calculated by scoring the Best Perfomances link as a state wide meet using results we obtain during the season. I think it is important that we make you aware of the weaknesses of this ranking system. Here are the main weaknesses: 1. We do not receive results from every team in the state. Others will submit only a couple meets. This means there may be a powerhouse team that we know little or nothing about, and therefore, they will not be listed in these rankings. As the season progresses, this becomes less of a problem. 2. Hand timing at many meets leaves something to be desired. In the past, we have witnessed several meets in which events timed were nearly a half second off. This can make a huge difference in rankings for sprint events such as 100, 200 and 110 hurdles. If we witness this occurring, it will be noted on the site, and times will be adjusted for the best performances. 3. A great athlete may be trying different events and could possibly have attained rankings in four or five individual events as well as helping team relays get ranked in several other events. These rankings allow an athlete to participate in as many events as he/she desires. 4. The ranking system does not take into account the fact that a runner may have jogged to an easy victory in an event and that the person ranked just ahead of them may have given all they had to record their time. With that said, here are the UNOFFICIAL TRACK RANKINGS for each class. |
