Friday Night

4:00 pm  Boys AAA High Jump

4:05 pm  4x800 meter run

         The boys A-AA was a very close race until the
         last 200 meters.

         The boys AAA had 4 teams contending for the 1st
         place but at 300 meters to go, the Martinsburg
         runner trips and finishes 5th.  Hedgesville comes
         from behind to steal 6th from West Fairmont.

5:00 pm  100 meter trials
         Girls AA shot finished

5:07 pm  Nathan Fields sets state record of 6' 10" in High
         Jump.

5:09 pm  Nathan Fields sets state record of 7' 00" in High
         Jump.

5:10 pm  Nathan Fields sets state record of 7' 02" in High
         Jump.

5:15 pm  Nathan Fields attempts 7' 3", misses twice, clears
         on 3rd attempt for state record.  Fails on next 3
         attempts for 7' 4".
         Boys AAA High Jump is officially ended.

5:33 pm  100 meter hurdle trials
         Boys A-AA Long Jump Finished
         Girls AAA discus finished.

6:00 pm  4x200 meter relay trials
         Boys AAA Discus
         Boys A-AA Shot Put
         Girls A-AA Long Jump
         Girls AAA High Jump

6:45 pm  4x100 meter relay trials

7:15 pm  Shuttle trials

7:43 pm  AAA Boys pole vault (finally) ends

7:44 pm  AAA girls report to pole vault

8:21 pm  200 meter dash trials

8:47 pm  3200 meter run finals

9:05 pm  Holly Hunter sets 3200 meter state record.

9:18 pm  Seven competitors remain in girls AAA pole vault.
         All other field events finished for the day.

9:36 pm  Still 7 competitors in Girls PV, RunWV editor must
         leave for hotel room.

10:30ish pm.  Girls pole vault ends, state record 9' 00"
              height.

Saturday

9:50 am   Girls A-AA high jump

10:00 am  400 meter dash finals

10:30 am  1600 meter finals

10:42 am  Holly Hunter breaks the 1600 record,
          her 2nd state record of the weekend.

11:00 am  300 hurdles
          Girls A-AA Discus ends
          Boys AAA shot ends
         
          During the second heat of the boys A-AA
          4 competitors fell, all in the final
          100 meters.  This allows for some of the
          runners in the first heat to place.

11:30 am  Boys A-AA Discus begins
          Girls AAA shot begins

12:45 pm  Prom Son (school) is allowed to re-run the 
          300 hurdles on appeal (apparently a runner 
          interfered during the AAA boys race).

1:00 pm   100 meter dash finals
          Boys A-AA Pole Vault ends

1:15 pm   100 meter hurdle finals

1:22 pm   110 meter hurdle finals

1:30 pm   4x200 meter relay finals
          Girls A-AA Pole Vault begins

          Holly Hunter scores yet another
          state record.

3:05 pm   Shuttle Hurdle finals

3:30 pm   Girls A-AA pole vault ends.  State record set
          at 8' 6".

3:40 pm   200 meter dash finals

          Winfield girls (A-AA) lock a win for the
          meet.

3:55 pm  4x400 meter relay finals

         In what looks to be a possible tie for the 
         meet (Cabell Midland in 3rd and Capital in
         1st), a runner trips, causing the Cabell
         Midland runner to stop (only 100 meters to
         go).  This could have cost the meet for the
         Cabell Midland team, however, the CM runner
         took off, and was able to overtake the Capital
         runner at the finish line!
