Dear Athletic Directors and Track Coaches:

Jefferson High School would like to invite your track teams to participate in the Inaugural Jim Taylor Invitational on April 12, 2024. Our event will be both men’s and women’s competition. 

The meet information will be sent out in March 2023 to all schools who commit to the meet.  We will only accept scratches the day of meet.  NO SUBSTITUTIONS OR REPLACEMENTS WILL BE ALLOWED.

The meet will be a standard Two Session Meet with Trails and Finals.  The JHS track is an eight-lane, all-weather rubber surface and with an F.A.T timing system. The events will be standard WV events 100m,200, 400m Dashes; 800m 1600m and 3200m Runs, 100/110 High Hurdles and 300m Low/Intermediate Hurdles, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800 and Shuttle Hurdle Relays.  A tentative schedule will be released in early March the meet information.

There will be trophies given to the First Place and runner-up.  The will awards given for the top 6 places for each individual and relay team.  There will be a high Point award given for both Men and Women athletes. 

Cost of entry for the meet will be $300 for both Men’s and Women’s team and $200 for Men’s or Women’s team.  Checks should be made payable to "JHS Athletics." Please register at your earliest convenience as priority will be given to the first teams to sign up for each meet.  You can email Coach Hunter at vhunter@k12.wv.us or our athletic director dviands@k12.wv.us
