Herbert Hoover's Maysen Fletcher has been named the 2025 West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year. Fletcher dominated the competition at the Class AA State Track Meet, taking the titles in the 800 Meter Run, 1600 Meter Run, and 3200 Meter Run and anchoring the winning 4x800 Meter Relay. In the 1600 and 3200, she obliterated the State Meet Record, taking those down by 14 and 38 seconds, respectively. Her 800 Meter Run was the 2nd Best Class AA State Meet Performance ever. Her 4x800 Meter split of 2:10 would have set the 800 Meter Run Record.

In the post-season, she clocked a 10:17.07 in the 2 Mile at New Balance Nationals and a blistering 4:42.45 in the Mile at Toad Fest.
