Hurricane's Ty Steorts has been selected to the Nike Elite Program. Just 40 athletes (20 boys, 20 girls) are selected for this program. The Nike Elite Program is a partnership between the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation and the USATF. Each athlete in the program gets a Nike mentor and will have contact with Nike professional athletes. Included will be a summer immersion event at Nike's World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR.
