Sherman Middle School Invitational Information

Sherman Jr High will be hosting the Sherman Middle School Invitational at Laidley Field on Thursday, April 18^th, 2024.

Time Schedule: The meet will begin with the field events starting at 4:45 PM and the running events starting at 5:00 PM. We may need some coaches to assist in field event. All times are final and there will be 3 throws in shot and discus and 3 jumps in long jump. The schedule is listed below.

Awards: Team Trophies for 1st and 2nd Places. 

Ribbons for 1^st-6th places. 

High Point Trophy for both boys and girls. 

Entries: Due by Monday, April 15^th, at 8:00 p.m. You may enter 2 athletes in each event and 1 relay (B teams are permitted). Hy-Tek entries are mandatory.

Scratch Sheets: Email a scratch sheet by 1:00 PM or sooner. You may only scratch and substitute on meet day. No additions.

Entry Fee: $75 Varsity Team 

$100/for both a Boys and Girls Varsity Team. 

$20/per B Team

Laidley Field Track Rules and Etiquette

(Edited for meet specific rules)

1. Tape and or chalk will not be permitted to mark lines for relays. Tennis balls are being provided.

2. Absolutely no chewing gum on track.

3. Water only inside fence area- No soft drinks, Gatorade, or all-sport drinks.

4. ¼” Spikes or less required at all times.

5. Spikes are not to be worn on the football field, in the bleachers, or in the restrooms.

6. Make sure athletes coming from the shot and discus area clean the mud from their shoes before entering the track.

7. No glass containers.

8. Shirt must be worn at all times for all athletes.
