Williamstown's Alyssa Sauro has been named the 2024 West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year. Sauro completed her strong Junior season with a trio of individual Class A Championships, taking the 800, 1600, and 3200 Meter Run Titles and added another title as the anchor leg of the winning 4x800 Meter Relay. At the State Meet, she recorded the 15th best ever 800 Meter Run in State History (and best ever in Class A) with a 2:15.69. During the season, at the Erickson Invitational, Sauro recorded the 4th Best Ever 1600 Meter Run in State History with a 4:49.72. She also recorded a 10:16.44 in the 3200 during the season.
