2023 Mcdonald’s 8th Grade Spectacular

Date: Monday May 8, 2023
Location: Mazzie/Reaser Complex, Liberty High School 1 Mountaineer Drive, Clarksburg WV 26301
Participants: 8th grade ONLY
Time schedule: WVSSAC Middle School Single Session meet, Coaches meeting 4:00, Field events at 4:15, Running at 5:00 On a rolling schedule after we begin, with a short break after the 400M
Field Events: All events will be held, 4 attempts ONLY, no finals (may implement minimum mark after first legal attempt if size warrants) for Shot Put, Discus, and Long Jump NO FINALS.
1st rotation: Girls Shot, Girls High Jump, Boys Discus, Boys Long Jump, Boys Pole Vault
2nd rotation: Girls Discus, Girls Long Jump, Girls Pole Vault, Boys Discus, Boys High Jump
Starting Heights: As needed – 6 inch increments for PV, 2 inches for HJ
Entry Procedures: You may use Athletic.net OR HyTek Team Manager for all team entries. Unlimited entries per team per event, but each athlete must adhere to the 3 running event, 4 total event limits
Entry Marks: (Please enter a realistic performance mark.)
Entry Deadline: Thursday, May 4th…if you use athletic.net, please send an email to Jason Haynes at jhaynes@k12.wv.us This will ensure he has your entries.
Performance List: Will be sent out SATURDAY if ALL ENTRIES ARE RECEIVED ON TIME
Scratches: By EMAIL or TEXT ASAP and until NOON the day of event to: Jason Haynes jhaynes@k12.wv.us 304-669-6994
Timing: Automatic timing will be used (Finish Lynx)
Team Camp Area: Teams can set up on opposite side of press box
Spikes: ¼ pyramid only, strictly enforced on all rubber surfaces
Scoring: Based on number of teams, hopefully Top 6: 10-8-6-4-2-1 NO TEAM SCORING/AWARDS., Individual awards only. Relays members will be given ¼ of points earned per team for individual award point total.
Awards: 1st place plaque per gender/event, and Ribbons for 2nd through 6th in individual events. Relays will get ribbons for 1st through 3rd place for each relay member. NO TEAM AWARDS. We will award 1st and 2nd place INDIVIDUAL High Point (Beast of the Meet) for boys and girls.

Hospitality: coaches will be given passes for a meal
Other Info: NO tape on track/ HJ Apron, or Long Jump/Pole Vault runways.
Admission Fee: Coaches/Participants and Media/WVSSAC passes ONLY are free admission, $5.00 for Adults/Kids Kindergarten and up as this is a fundraiser for Mountaineer Middle School Track Program
Team entry fees: $5 per athlete per gender, more than 10 athletes, $50 flat fee. Email Coach Haynes at jhaynes@k12.wv.us with payment information.
