Add another award to the shelf of Morgantown's Irene Riggs as she has now been named the 2022 Ray McCoy Award for the top female Track & Field athlete in the State.

Riggs' Junior campaign resulted in State Championships in the 800, 1600, and 3200 Meter Runs, setting a State Meet Record in the 3200 Meter Run. She also set a State All-Time Best in the 3200 at the Mountaineer Showcases in April with a 9:54.69. She would top that in the post-season, when she clocked a 9:50.72 in the 2 Mile at the Brooks PR Invitational.
