Dear Coach:

            Here is the information for the 2023 Doddridge County High School "Season Opener Track Meet" to be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Cline Stansberry Stadium at Doddridge County High School. 

Time:  We will be running the modified one session meet schedule.  At 4:00pm we will start the Girls 3200m run as well as the Field events (Boys:  Pole Vault, Long Jump, & Discus; Girls: High Jump & Shot Put).  The Boys 3200m run will follow the Girls 3200m run. We will then run the Girls 400m dash and Boys 400m dash, followed by a 20-minute break before starting the rest of the running events following the regular order of events.

Awards: Ribbons to all placers 1-6

Entry Fee:  None

Entry Deadline:  Hy-Tek entries need to be e-mailed to runwv@runwv.com  by Monday, March 20, 2023.  The event file that is needed will be posted on www.runwv.com.   If you haven’t had a meet yet, please use reasonable estimates when entering your athletes.  (Not past PR’s, but what is likely now.)

Entries: You may enter 3 individuals in each individual event and 2 relay teams in each relay event, though only one relay team from the same school can place and score in a relay event.  (Depending on the number of teams attending, we may allow a 4^th competitor in each individual event. If that happens we will let the coaches know.

Scratches:  Please email your scratches and replacements before noon on meet day to runwv@runwv.com.  Last minute scratches and replacements will also be accepted until 3:30pm at the meet.  If possible, though, please make every effort to get this information to us no later than noon.

Miscellaneous: Starting blocks will be provided. We will have 8 sets of blocks at each starting line.  We hope that you will use only our starting blocks, but if you bring your own, you will be responsible for transporting them from event to event. Also, please tell your athletes to NOT take our starting blocks from one start line to another.  There are 8 at each start line. The longest spikes allowed on our track are ¼ inch.  Participants in the throws and long jump will get 4 attempts.  There will be no finals!
