University's Josh Edwards was named the 2022 Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year for West Virginia. This makes him a repeat winner from last year. This follows his dominant season that saw him win the 800, 1600, and 3200 Meter Run at the State Meet. He was also a member of the 3rd place 4x400 Meter Relay, helping University High School win its first ever team Championship. He had the top times in the State in all three distance events. He clocked an impressive 8:45.61 at the Mountaineer Showcase in mid-April. He also won the 3000 Meter Run at the Penn Relays. Josh will be off to the University of Oregon this fall.
