Dear Coach:

Here is the UPDATED information for the 2020 Doddridge County High School "Season Opener Track Meet" to be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at the “New” Cline Stansberry Stadium at Doddridge County High School.  This will be the first track meet at the new facility. 15 teams are entered in this meet!

Time:  Field events (Boys:  Pole Vault, Long Jump, & Discus; Girls: High Jump & Shot Put) will begin at 4:00pm.  Due to the large number of teams, we will try to start the running events at 4:00pm, as well, using the modified one session meet, similar to the middle school one session meet.  The first running event will be the 3200m run, followed by the 400m dash.  We will then have a 30-minute break, followed by the 4x800m relay and on through the rest of the meet, like the 2nd session of a two-session meet.

Awards:  There will be “First Time at the New Cline” ribbons for all 6 placers in each event.

Entry Fee:  There is no entry fee for this meet.

Entry Deadline:  Hy-Tek entries need to be e-mailed to runwv@runwv.com  by Friday, March 20, 2020.  The event file that is needed will be posted on www.runwv.com.   If you are unfamiliar with Hy-Tek you can find help at www.bridgeporttrack.com.  If you haven’t had a meet yet, please use reasonable estimates when entering your athletes.  (Not last year’s PR’s, but what is likely now.)

Entries:  Due to the large number of teams entered in this meet, each team will be limited to 3 athletes in each individual event.   Also, only one relay team per school will be permitted.

Scratches:  Please FAX your scratches and replacements before noon on meet day (304-873-1873).  Last minute scratches and replacements will also be accepted until 3:30pm at the meet.  If possible, though, please make every effort to get this information to us no later than noon.

Miscellaneous:  The concession stand will be open.  Starting blocks will be provided. We will have 8 sets of blocks at each starting line. The longest spikes allowed on our track are ¼ inch.  Participants in the throws and long jump will get 4 attempts.  There will be no finals!
