Ripley's Tori Starcher has been named the West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year for Track & Field. Starcher recorded wins at the State Meet in the 800, 1600, and 3200 Meter Runs and anchored the winning 4x400 Meter Relay in leading the Vikings to the team Championship while setting 3 State Meet Records in the process (800, 1600, 4x400).

In addition, she recorded the top times in the State on the season in the 800, 1600, Mile, and 3200 Meter, and set an All-Time State Best in the 1600 (converted mile) after recording a 4:38.19, which is a 4:36.58 equivalent for the 1600 meter run. The 4:38.19 mile was a meet record at the prestigious Penn Relays.
