100 M 1. Allie Germann Winfield
2. Anaiya Jackson Bridgeport
3. Reagan Hefner Shady Spring
4. Tiara Rowe Elkins
5. Shannon Farrow Oak Hill
6. Summer Brown Bluefield
Germann blistered a 12.50 at the Gazette Relays and has four runs under 12.80. Jackson has
four runs under 12.90. Hefner has a pair under 13 and had an excellent regional run. Rowe
has closed the season well. Farrow has a trio of runs under 13. Brown had a strong regional
and placed last year. This should be very tight as I have last year's 2nd and 4th place
finishers out of the money this year.
200 M 1. Allie Germann Winfield
2. Tori Mackowiak Oak Hill
3. Reagan Hefner Shady Spring
4. Anaiya Jackson Bridgeport
5. Tiara Rowe Elkins
6. Kayla Grose Frankfort
Germann again excelled at the Gazette Relays under this format. She has the top time in
the field Mackowiak went sub-26 at the Regional. Hefner has the 2nd best top time and a
better overall series than Mackowiak, but Mackowiak gets the nod due to the regional win.
Jackson also has a better series than Mackowiak and moving up to 2nd would not be a surprise
at all. Rowe has three runs under 26.50, occurring in her last three meets. Grose has the
next best top time and the next best series.
400 M 1. Tori Mackowiak Oak Hill
2. Baylee Adkins Winfield
3. Kayla Grose Frankfort
4. Erica Hegele Shady Spring
5. Isabella Robinson Winfield
6. Emerson Grafton Bridgeport
Mackowiak has the top time in the field and has a pair of runs under 60. That top time occurred
at the Regional. Adkins is the only other one in the field to have been under 60, and she's
done it three times. Grose has the next best top time with an excellent regional run. Hegele
has a better series with a pair of runs under 61. I'm not 100% convinced she'll stay in the
event. They could move her to an already strong 4x400. Robinson has three runs under 62.
Grafton has a sub-62 and a 62.00.
800 M 1. Baylee Adkins Winfield
2. Maya Brinson Fairmont Senior
3. Erykah Christopher East Fairmont
4. Isabella Robinson Winfield
5. Julia Muller Bridgeport
6. Peyton Fronaphel Winfield
Adkins is the class of the field with a top time over 5 seconds ahead of anyone else. She
has four runs under 2:18 and at least five under 2:19 while no one else has cracked 2:20.
Christopher has a 2:20 and a 2:24 to her credit. Brinson has a 2:20 to her credit as well,
beating Christopher in the process. Her series is very close to Christopher's, but I gave
Christopher the nod due to the Regional win. Robinson actually has a series than either of
them but hasn't been under 2:24. She does, however, have at least five runs under 2:27.
Muller is still coming back from injury, and I'm expecting her to continue to make strides
over the final week. Fronaphel has a pair of runs better than Muller best.
1600 M 1. Grace Cole Winfield
2. Erykah Christopher East Fairmont
3. Maya Brinson Fairmont Senior
4. Julia Muller Bridgeport
5. Alanna Roberts Winfield
6. Danielle Jividen Winfield
Cole has the top time in the field, and has three runs under 5:30. Christopher has the best
overall series in the field with 5 runs of 5:28 or better. Brinson only has the 6th best
top time in the field, but I wouldn't be shocked if she contends for the win. Muller ran
a 5:31 at the Big 10 Championship. Being fresh on Saturday morning 2 weeks later should set
her up to be faster than that. Roberts has a pair of 5:33 runs. Jividen ran a 5:32 back
in March but hasn't been under 5:36 since.
3200 M 1. Maya Brinson Fairmont Senior
2. Carlina Jacquez Fairmont Senior
3. Danielle Jividen Winfield
4. Belle Harvey Berkeley Springs
5. Erin O'Sullivan PikeView
6. Gracie Miller Philip Barbour
Brinson has the top time in the field and has a pair of runs under 11:45 and three under 12:00.
Jacquez has an 11:45 run and three others under 12:10. Jividen has the only other sub-12
in the field, but that was back on 4/6. She hasn't been under 12:09 since, but she still
has the next best series. I originally had moved Harvey up to 3rd, but I put her back into
fourth. She has a 12:05 and a couple other runs under 12:20. O'Sullivan hasn't gone under
12:40, but she was in the same situation last year, and she ran 11:49. Miller has the next
best time and the next best series.
100 HH 1. Erica Hegele Shady Spring
2. Emily Meade Bridgeport
3. Jazmin King North Marion
4. Izzy Barganski Oak Glen
5. Jalyn Western Petersburg
6. Taylor Sexton Shady Spring
Hegele's top time is over a second ahead of the field. Her top 5 runs are at least 0.5
seconds ahead over anyone else's best. Meade has put down three sub-16 runs in her last
three meets. No one else has been under 16.40. King has the next best series with five runs
under 16.70. Barganski the next best top time and five runs under 17 seconds. Western only
has the 9th best top time, but she has 5 runs under 17 seconds with three coming in the last
two meets. Sexton has the next best top time and the next best series.
300 LH 1. Erica Hegele Shady Spring
2. Baylee Adkins Winfield
3. Kayla Grose Frankfort
4. Emily Meade Bridgeport
5. Savannah Hoff Winfield
6. Izzy Barganski Oak Glen
Hegele has the top time in the field by almost 0.9 seconds. She has three runs better than
anyone else's best and five runs under 47.50. Yet, she is barely the favorite. Adkins went
46.33 at the Gazette Relays and has three runs under 47.60. Grose has a 47.30 run and gave
Hegele all she could handle last year, going under 46. Meade has the next best series with
a pair of runs under 49 and three under 50. Hoff has the next best top time and the next
best series. Barganski has the next best top time and series after that. I did have Anaiya
Jackson in 5th, but I think she gets moved to a relay.
4x100 M 1. Winfield
2. Bridgeport
3. Oak Glen
4. Keyser
5. Elkins
6. Weir
Winfield has the top time in the field and has three runs better than anyone else's best.
I originally had Bridgeport in 4th, but I think this is the landing spot for Anaiya Jackson,
and for me, that moves them up to 2nd. Oak Glen nipped Keyser at the regional, so we'll
go with that order for this. Elkins has a better series than either but hasn't been quite
as fast in their top performance. Weir has the next best top time and series.
4x200 M 1. Bridgeport
2. Oak Glen
3. Shady Spring
4. Elkins
5. Oak Hill
6. Weir
Bridgeport has the top time in the field...but barely. Oak Glen is just 0.02 off and has
a better series with really strong runs at the OVAC and their regional. I moved Shady Spring
into the 3rd spot because they ran their time without competition. Elkins has a better top
time than Shady and could easily take the spot. Oak Hill has some options that could conceivably
have them contending for the title. I don't know if they use all of them, but regardless,
their top time is over 2 seconds ahead of everyone else, and they should be able to at least
use that lineup. Weir has the next best top time and series.
4x400 M 1. Winfield
2. Bridgeport
3. Oak Glen
4. Shady Spring
5. Oak Hill
6. Wayne
I think Winfield can go 4:04 or better. I don't think anyone else can get there. Bridgeport
can get into the 4:08 range. Oak Glen has the top time in the field, so moving into the
2nd spot would not be a stretch. Shady Spring ran a 4:14 withouth Erica Hegele. If they
move here here, they could contend for 2nd. Oak Hill's top time is 5 seconds ahead of the
rest of the field. Wayne has the next best top time. I actually show Fairmont Senior being
able to go faster than Wayne, but I've given Wayne the spot based on achieved performance.
4x800 M 1. Winfield
2. Bridgeport
3. Philip Barbour
4. Wayne
5. Frankfort
6. Oak Glen
Winfield can go under 9:50. I don't think anyone else can do that. I think Bridgeport can
get down close to 10:00 with a shot at going under. Philip Barbour has easily the 2nd best
achieved time in the field. I think Wayne can do more than what we've seen, maybe just enough
to get in ahead of Frankfort. Frankfort has the 3rd best achieved time in the field. Oak
Glen has the 6th best time, but they will be tested for that spot by a few teams. I think
Oak Hill could be in the mix for a top 4 as well.
Shuttle 1. North Marion
2. Winfield
3. Bridgeport
4. Petersburg
5. Shady Spring
6. Sissonville
This really just goes in order of what they've already done. North Marion has the top time
in the field by almost 0.8 seconds. Winfield has the most runs under 1:10. Bridgeport has
a pair of runs under 1:10. Petersburg had a faster regional than Bridgeport. Shady Spring
has the next best time, and Sisonville is the only other team to have been under 1:12.
H Jump 1. Sami Saunders Point Pleasant
2. Kristen Crowder Bridgeport
3. Jayln Western Petersburg
4. Elicia Wood Point Pleasant
5. Abby Beeman Frankfort
6. Payton Merica Bridgeport
Saunders has a 5'4 and a 5'3 jump to her credit. She had the top regional jump in the field
at 5'3 and has at least three other 5'2 jumps. Crowder has a 5'4 jump and at least four 5'2
jumps, and she's the defending champion. Western has a 5'3 jump and three 5'2 jumps. Wood
has a 5'4 and a 5'2 and a 5'0. Beeman has a 5'2 and three 5'0 jumps. Merica has a 5'2 and
also has three 5'0 jumps. Cleaning jumping through 5'0 will clearly be important in this
as there are 11 in the field who have cleared 5'0 and I've left out last year's runner-up.
P Vault 1. Dianna Goodman Winfield
2. Claire Lohmann Bridgeport
3. Sami Saunders Point Pleasant
4. Nikki Walker Winfield
5. Kaleigh Eddy North Marion
6. Kayla Means Robert C. Byrd
Goodman has at least five vaults that are more than a foot higher than anyone else's best,
with a top vault of 11'7. Her top five performances would all set a State Meet record.
Lohmann is the only other vaulter with more than one 10'0 clearance. She has two and a pair
of 9'6 vaults to go with them. Saunders has a 10'1 vault and at least four 9'6 vaults.
Walker has four 8'6 vaults. Eddy has three 8'6 vaults. Means has an 8'6 vault, an 8'2
vault, and at least three 8'0 vaults.
L Jump 1. Maggie Kovalcik Oak Glen
2. Allie Germann Winfield
3. Erica Hegele Shady Spring
4. Emily Meade Bridgeport
5. Abby Beeman Frankfort
6. Sami Saunders Point Pleasant
Kovalcik hit 18'0 at her regional. She has at least four other 17' jumps. She's also the
defending champion. Germann has a 17'5 jump, two others over 16'7, and five in total over
16'. Hegele has five jumps of at least 16'2. Meade has three 16'2 jumps including one of
17'2 that happened at the Gazette Relays. Beeman went 17'5 at her regional, but that's her
only jump over 16'...but she was also 2nd last year. Saundershas the only other 16' jump
in the field and was 4th last year.
Shot 1. Brooke Burns Scott
2. Addy Cottrill Point Pleasant
3. Taylor Winebrenner Nicholas
4. Megan Boroski James Monroe
5. Kayla Butler Point Pleasant
6. Reece Hedrick Petersburg
Burns hsa a pair of throws over 38' and two others over 37'. Her #5 throw is as good as
anyone else's #2. She just missed 38' at the Regional. Cottrill has a 37' throw and three
other 36' throws. Winebrenner has the next best series. Boroski has a better top throw
than Winebrenner. Butler has the next best top throw and series and had the 3rd best Regional
throw in the field. Hedrick has the next best series with five throws of at least 32'.
Discus 1. Brooke Burns Scott
2. Addy Cottrill Point Pleasant
3. Madyia McCullough Bridgeport
4. Lura Simons Robert C. Byrd
5. Kaylee Travis Oak Glen
6. Taylor Winebrenner Nicholas
Burns has the top throw and the top series. She's hit 129' three times and has a 5th best
throw of nearly 124'. Cottrill has the next best series with five throws of at least 121'.
McCullough has the 2nd best top throw with a 125'5, but nothing else over 116'. She easily
has the 3rd best series. Simons has five throws of 106' or better. Travis has a better
top throw than Simons at 110'4 and has five throws of at least 103'. Winebrenner is the
last in the field with five 100' throws.
