The Region I class AA track meet will be held at North Marion High School on Wednesday, May 9th.  The meet will begin with a coaches meeting at 1:15 pm.  Scratches must be submitted to the Dawg House prior to this time.

 

Field events will begin at 2:00 pm.  First Session:  Boys Discus, Girls Shot Put, Boys Long Jump, Girls High Jump, and Boys Pole Vault.

 

Shot and Discus implements will verified with a judge.  

 

Pole Vault Certification Forms must be presented to event judge prior to event.  

 

Running events will begin at 2:15 pm with the order of events for a two-session meet as listed in the Interscholastic.

 

Qualifiers: Throws and Jumps – Top 8 plus ties to finals

                    Sprints and Hurdles – Top 8 to finals determined by place and time.

 

The method of entries is by email utilizing Hy-Tek Team Manager program.  This method not only saves the director time but also prevents data entry mistakes.  The time of distance that the coach submits is what is listed for the athlete.  All you need is the event file, which will be on the RunWV website:  www.runwv.com – please feel free to download this information and file your entries by email.  Please use WVSSAC identifiers for your team.  For Example: School name – North Marion HS – team abbr: 0089 – short team name – NMHS.  Please use the names of your athletes as they appear on your roster.  Make sure a grade level is listed for each of your athletes.  If you have questions, you may contact me at 304-694-1582 or you may email me at keri.bland@gmail.com

 

All Entries are due to the director by no later than 2:00pm on Sunday, May 6.  Please email entry files to keri.bland@gmail.com Upon receiving your entries, I will send you a conformation email, please look over this and make sure they are correct.

 

 

 

Remember if you add an athlete on your eligibility with the WVSSAC that the roster also needs to be updated.  Please check with your athletic director that your current roster is up to date on the WVSSAC website.

 

If a question arises during the scratch meeting regarding an entry time for an athlete or relay, please have appropriate documentation to prove your entry time.  If you do not have the documentation, the meet director has the option to change the time based on the evidence presented to him on meet day.

 

If you know that you have changes that you would like to make after you send the entries, please email them by 3:00 pm, Monday May 7th.  You will still be able to make changes on meet day but it will save the computer operators a lot of work and time on Wednesday if we get some of the changes early.

 

Vehicles are not permitted on the top of the hill near track, unless handicap.  We will have a shuttle bus running to take spectators from their parked vehicle, up the hill to the track.  Parking for busses will be available on the visitor side of the football stadium, between the score board and the bleachers.

 

We have a team area that has a pavilion, but is graveled surface underneath, if you team would like bring something to sit on. 

 

We will open the gate at 12:00 pm.  Admission fee will be paid upon entering the campus.  Admission – Adults $6 – Students $5 as established.  Only WVSSAC passes may be utilized and those individuals must sign in and may be asked for identification.

 

There will be a concession stand available throughout the meet.  It will open at 1:00 pm.

 

Please do not use tape for marking of the relays.  Batons will be furnished for the relays.
