100 M 1. Allison Fields Ripley
2. Jahmia Bridges-Butler Morgantown
3. Eva Pisano Musselman
4. Roxanne McFarlin Washington
5. Leah Stankus Buckhannon-Upshur
6. Aisha Grant Jefferson
Fields has the top time in the field and had the best Regional Performance. She has at
least five runs under 12.80. Bridges-Butler has the 2nd best time in the group and three
runs under 12.75, including the last two mets. Pisano has the next best time and three
runs under 12.90. McFarlin has the next best time and some fast hand-times to go with it.
Stankus has the next best time and series, just slightly ahead of Grant on both counts.
These 6 have been under 13 seconds, but only 3 have done it more than once, and 13 in the
field have ran 13.20 or better. It will be tought to make the final.
200 M 1. Allison Fields Ripley
2. Jahmia Bridges-Butler Morgantown
3. Malika Houston George Washington
4. Sydnei Taylor Spring Mills
5. Kelsea Anderson Martinsburg
6. Leah Stankus Buckhannon-Upshur
Fields has the top time in the field and 5 runs under 26.50. Bridges-Butler has the next
best time and five runs under 26.80, and she was the runner-up in a very close 3-way fight
for 2nd last year. Houston has a better series than Bridges-Butler and also has 5 runs
under 26.50. Taylor has three runs under 26.70 and was just 0.03 off Bridges-Butler in
that tight battle last year. Anderson has three runs under 26.80. Stankus has four runs
under 27.00. 9 have been under 26.80.
400 M 1. Amber Dombrowski Morgantown
2. Madison Trippett Parkersburg
3. Sydnei Taylor Spring Mills
4. Roxanne McFarlin Washington
5. Alyssa Long Cabell Midland
6. Mikah Alleyne Woodrow Wilson
Dombrowski is the only one to have been under 59 seconds more than once, and she's been
there 3 times. Trippett has only run it four times, and each was under 59.40. Taylor
has run under 59 seconds and won it last year. McFarlin has also run under 59 seconds
and just beat Taylor at the Regional. Long has three runs under 61 seconds. Alleyne
matches the top time of Long and has a better series, but Long was the most recent battle
between the two at the MSAC. These 6 are the only ones to have gone under 60 seconds. Only
one other competitor has been under 61 seconds.
800 M 1. Tori Starcher Ripley
2. Madison Trippett Parkersburg
3. Anna Gordon Hurricane
4. Amber Dombrowski Morgantown
5. Kate Eddy George Washington
6. Danielle Ray Hurricane
Starcher has been phenomenal with a top time of 2:12.77 and at least five runs under 2:16.
Trippett has been exceptional as well having ran under 2:15 and with three runs under 2:16.
These two are over 5 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Gordon almost went under
2:20 at the Regional and has four runs under 2:25. Dombrowski has a 2:20 clocking as well
and has three under 2:25. Eddy has the next best top time by almost 1.8 seconds. Ray
has the next best time by over a second. 8 have been under 2:27. 10 have been under 2:28.
1600 M 1. Tori Starcher Ripley
2. TaShala Turner University
3. Samantha Hatcher Morgantown
4. Beighley Ayers Wheeling Park
5. Hannah Lipps Hampshire
6. Olivia Collett Parkersburg
Starcher has the top time in the field by almost 6 seconds with her 4:55.48. She's been
under 5:00 twice. Turner just missed the barrier at the Gazette Relays with a 5:01 (Starcher
and Madison Trippett both eclipsed the mark that meet). Hatcher has three runs under 5:10.
Ayers doesn't have the next best time but between her better 800 speed and her 11:03 Regional
3200 performance, I felt like I had to move her up to this spot. Lipps has the 4th best
time in the field. Collett has a pair of runs under 5:22. 8 in the field have been under
5:22.
3200 M 1. Tori Starcher Ripley
2. TaShala Turner University
3. Madison Trippett Parkersburg
4. Beighley Ayers Wheeling Park
5. Samantha Hatcher Morgantown
6. Hannah Lipps Hampshire
Starcher again has the top time in the field. It's a little closer in this one than in
the 1600 with Turner less than 4 seconds behind. I think this one could be interesting,
particularly when you add Trippett to the mix, and you have three that have been under
10:54. Ayers and Hatcher ran really well at their Regionals (11:03 and 11:04, respectively).
Lipps doesn't have the next best time, but as she was the State Cross Country Champion, I
didn't want to leave her out. 8 in the field have been under 11:30.
100 HH 1. Malika Houston George Washington
2. Jahmia Bridges-Butler Morgantown
3. Mikah Alleyne Woodrow Wilson
4. Laurel Miller Ripley
5. Mariah Harmon Huntington
6. Eva Pisano Musselman
Houston has the top time in the field (a time that would set a State Meet Record if she
matches it at the State Meet) and has five runs faster than anyone else's best. She was
also 3rd in an exceptional field last year. Bridges-Butler has the only other sub-15 run
in the field and the next best series. Alleyne and Miller are identical on their top two
times. Miller has the better overall series, but since Alleyne won their match-up at the
MSAC, I went with Alleyne for 3rd. Harmon has esily the next best time and series. Pisano
is the only other one that has a pair of runs under 16 seconds. 8 in the field have been
under 16 seconds and 10 have been under 16.20.
300 LH 1. Malika Houston George Washington
2. Aubrey Wiethe Wheeling Park
3. Leah Stankus Buckhannon-Upshur
4. Deaira Brown George Washington
5. Tiarra Jackson St. Albans
6. Chloe Hibbs Hampshire
Houston has the top time in the field by over 1.5 seconds. She was also 2nd in the event
last year. Wiethe is over a second ahead of anyone else and has 3 runs under 47 seconds.
Stanksu has the next best time and series. Brown has a pair of runs under 48 seconds.
Jackson has the next best time and series. Hibbs has the next best time and 3 runs under
49 seconds. 8 have been under 49 seconds. 13 have been under 49.20.
4x100 M 1. Morgantown
2. Martinsburg
3. Musselman
4. Jefferson
5. Cabell Midland
6. Washington
Morgantown has the top time in the field and the best overall series. I've gone with
Martinsburg in 2nd and Musselman in 3rd. Jefferson is a bit of a question mark. I dont'
know the status of Michaela Ashford. If she's available and healthy, they challenge
Morgantown. But at the Regional, she scratched the 300LH, the Long Jump, and the 200
Meter Dash Finals. She is listed on the 4x100, which would have been after the 300LH,
so it's possible that she wasn't actually in the 4x100. If they ran 51.33 without her,
then I probably keep them in 2nd. Cabell Midland has the next best time, and Washington
has the next best time after that. 7 teams have been under 52 seconds. 9 have been under
52.50.
4x200 M 1. Ripley
2. Spring Mills
3. Martinsburg
4. Huntington
5. Jefferson
6. Morgantown
Ripley has the top time in the field by over a second. Spring Mills is the only other
team with a pair of runs under 1:48. Martinsburg has the next best time. Huntington
has the next best time. Jefferson is one of just four with a pair of runs under 1:50.
Morgantown doesn't have the next best time but is has the next best pair of times. They're
consistently fast. 7 teams have been under 1:50 10 have been under 1:51.
4x400 M 1. Ripley
2. Morgantown
3. Hurricane
4. Wheeling Park
5. Cabell Midland
6. George Washington
Ripley has the top time in the field by over 6 seconds. I don't think they win it by nearly
that much, but they do still win it. I have Morgantown and Hurricane battling for the 2nd
spot, with Morgantown having a slight edge. I have a small gap back to a big mess for the
next 3 spots. I have Wheeling Park and Cabell Midland with the highest potential of the
remaining teams. I gave Wheeling Park the edge because they've been faster thus far. I
gave the final spot to George Washington. They'll have to accomplish this from the 1st
heat, but they'll need help (and I think Washington can provide that help). I have University
with equivalent potential. I have 5 teams within 2 seconds for those final 3 spots. I
struggled with this. I had Wheeling Park in 7th when I started this, and now they're 4th.
I initially had University 5th, and now they're 7th. It should be fun.
4x800 M 1. Morgantown
2. Parkersburg
3. Wheeling Park
4. Cabell Midland
5. University
6. Hurricane
I have Morgantown with the top potential, and the only team I'm confident can go under 9:40.
I think Parkersburg will give them a run. I feel like those two are out a little bit on
the field. Things get really tight after that. I have Wheeling Park with the next best
potential. I have Cabell Midland next, followed by University and Hurricane. I think they
may all go under 9:50. I don't think anyone else can get in that range. One potential
wild card in this is if any of the teams hold someone out to save them for the 3200. I
don't think they will, but it's possible. Midland threw me a bit. I initially had them
in 6th before I realized they may have the exact same lineup that ran 9:38 last year. It
wouldn't be shocking for them to move up even further.
Shuttle 1. Musselman
2. Huntington
3. Hampshire
4. John Marshall
5. Jefferson
6. Cabell Midland
Musselman went from non-placing to favorite with their 1:05.19 Regional Performance.
Huntington is the only other team to have run under 1:06. Hampshire is the only other
team to have run under 1:08. John Marshall has the next best time. Jefferson has a
pair of strong runs, but their Regional run will have them in the 2nd of 4 heats. Cabell
Midland is the only other team to have gone under 1:09. 9 teams in the field have been
under 1:10.
H Jump 1. Laurel Miller Ripley
2. Sydney Moffett Wheeling Park
3. Mariah Harmon Huntington
4. Mikah Alleyne Woodrow Wilson
5. Morganne Andrews Martinsburg
6. Hailey McAllister Hampshire
Miller has a pair of 5'7 jumps and at least three 5'6 jumps. No one else has been higher
than 5'2. Moffett has a 5'2 jump and four 5'0 jumps. Harmon has a 5'2 jump and three 5'0
jumps. Alleyne is the only other jumper to have cleared 5'2, and she did so at this venue.
Andrew has a 5'0 jump and a 4'10 jump, but her 5'0 jump came at the Regional Meet. McAllister
have a 5'0 jump and four 4'10 jumps, but her 5'0 jump came in March. 4'10 may place this
year, and 14 in the field have cleared 4'10.
P Vault 1. Lauren Zaglifa Washington
2. Haley Snodgrass Capital
3. Lily Simmons Jefferson
4. Megan Bailey Capital
5. Lauren Riner Spring Mills
6. Sophie Thompson Parkersburg
Zaglifa is coming off a Regional Meet in which she set a State All-Time Best of 12'4. She
also has the best overall series. Snodgrass is the defending champion and has an 11'6 vault
on her resume, which Zaglifa has only beaten once. Snodgrass also has a pair of 11'0 vaults.
Simmons is the only other one to have cleared 10'0, which she has done twice. Bailey has
a 9'6 vault and a pair of 9'0 vaults. Riner has three 9'0 vaults. Thompson has a pair of
9'0 vaults. 7 in the field have cleared at least 9'0 with 5 topping 9'6. No one else has
been higher than 8'0.
L Jump 1. Malika Houston George Washington
2. Sydnei Taylor Spring Mills
3. Yazmin Williams Brooke
4. Jillian Andrews Jefferson
5. Alezha Turner Huntington
6. Gabrielle Reynolds George Washington
Houston has the best series with at least 5 jumps over 17'0. Taylor has the top jump in
the field at 17'9.50. She has five jumps of at least 16'6. These two both jumped 17'9
last year with Taylor taking the tie-breaker for 2nd. Williams has a 17'0 jump and a pair
of 16'0 jumps. Andrews has a 16'9 jump and another 16'0 jump. Turner also has a pair
of 16'0 jumps and two more over 15'7. Reynolds has a 16'0 jump and two others over 15'9.
7 in the field have jumped 16'0 and 10 have jumped at least 15'6.
Shot 1. Kylie Miles Cabell Midland
2. Kiauna Facemyer Capital
3. Shekerra Brown Martinsburg
4. Amy Rine Brooke
5. Maryann Abedayo Hedgesville
6. Jada Brooks Spring Mills
Miles has a 41'0 throw and another close to 40'0 (which occurred at this venue). Facemyer
actually has a better overall series than Miles with 5 throws over 38'0, but her two best
throws came in March. Brown has 5 throws of at least 37'7. She actually beats Miles on
throws 3-4-5. The best throws for these three are over 2' ahead of everyone else. Rine
has 5 throws of at least 35'7. Abedayo has 4 throws of at least 35'9. Brooks has the next
best series with a pair of thrwos over 34'0. 9 have been over 33'0.
Discus 1. Kylie Miles Cabell Midland
2. Shekerra Brown Martinsburg
3. Amy Rine Brooke
4. Sydney Jefferys Morgantown
5. Serenity McDowell Hegesville
6. Jada Brooks Spring Mills
Miles has the top throw in the field, and her three best throws have come in the last three
meets. Brown has the 2nd best thrown and beats Miles on throws 3-4-5 (just like in the
Shot Put). Rine has three throws over 105'0. Jefferys has 4 throws over 102'0. McDill
is the only other one with a pair of 100'0 throws. Brooks has a better top throw than
McDill, but McDill is significantly better on every other position. Only these 6 have
topped 100'0 at any point this season. 9 have thrown 95'0.
