RE: Region IV ‘A’ Track Meet

 

The region IV ‘A’ track meet will be held Thursday May 12, 2016 at Parkersburg South’s Erickson Stadium. The meet will begin with a coaches meeting at 3:15. All scratches must be submitted to the press box at this time.

Field events will begin at 4:00 PM. First session : Boys Discus, long jump and pole vault- girl’s shot put and high jump

The only method of entry is by email utilizing Hy-Tek Team Manager program. The event file is available from www.runwv.com.  Please use the WVSSAC identifiers for your team : example school name Lewis County HS- team abbr: 0065- short team name Lewis County. You must use your athlete’s names as they appear on the WVSSAC roster. Be certain that your roster is up to date, as if the athlete is not on the roster they may not participate. All entries are due no later than 2PM Wednesday May 11th.

If a question arises during the scratch meeting regarding a time, please have documentation to prove the entry.

If you have changes please email them Wed, this helps the computer operators. You will be able to make scratches. You make substitutions, but no additions on Thursday.

Admission is set by the WVSSAC at Adults $6- Students $5.

Please bring your own tennis balls for relay marks.

Qualifying on the track and in the throws and long jump will be the top 3 placers and then the next four best efforts from all four regions.  In the pole vault and high jump it is the top four placers plus athletes that achieve to qualifying standard.  Qualifying standards are girls; 8’ in pole vault and 4’10” in the high jump- boys 11’ in pole vault and 5’10” in the high jump.  If there is a tie for fourth and the tied athletes are not at the standard a jump off will break the tie.

Minimum Regional starting heights are; Girls pole vault 7’- high jump 4’4”- Boys  pole vault 9’- high jump5’ 6”.

Coach’s boxes for the field events will be next to the event. Coaches are permitted in the infield only for the field events, then they must be in the stands.
