Bridgeport's McKenna Smith and Capital's Tristan Slater were named as the West Virginia Gatorade Players of the Year for Track & Field.

Smith set 3 All-Time Bests and 4 State Meet Records this season with the All-Time Bests coming in the 100 (11.89), the 200 (24.37), and the 400 (55.25), and the other State Meet Record coming in the 300 Meter Low Hurdles (44.03).

Slater set an All-Time Best Mark in the Pole Vault this year with a vault of 17'1 and also won the State Meet with a clearance of 16'0, which is the 2nd Best All-Time State Meet Performance. He also finished 3rd in the Long Jump at the State Meet.
