Re: Region I AA Track Championships

The Region I Class AA Track Meet will be held at Ritchie County High School on Wednesday May 13, 2015. The meet will begin with a coaches meeting at 3:45 PM. There will be no additional scratches accepted after 3:30 PM.

**Team tents should be set up on the visitors bleachers**

Field events will begin at 4:00 PM with Boys Discus, Girls Shot Put, Boys Long Jump, Girls High Jump, and Boys Pole Vault as suggested by the Interscholastic.

Running events will begin at approximately 4:30 PM with the order of events for a two-session meet as listed in the February issue of the Interscholastic.

Shot and Discus implements will be provided. If you have an implement that is different from what is provided, you may ask the Head Field Event Judge to approve the implement for use by all throwers.

Qualifiers: Throws and Jumps – top 8 plus ties to finals

Sprints and Hurdles – Top 7 to finals determined by place and time.

Pole Vault Certification Forms must be presented to event judge prior to event. Coaches may locate inside the track venue during the vault competition.

Admission- Adults $6 – Students- $5 as established by WVSSAC. Only WVSSAC passes may be utilized and those individuals must sign in and may be asked for identification. A concession stand will be available throughout the meet.

The track venue will consist of the area inside of the fence that runs outside of the track.

The event file for this meet is located on the WVSSAC website. To download the meet event file open “sports and schedules” and under “individual sports” click on “track”. Download Regional event file AA Region 1.

The names you send with your entries must match the name on your eligibility sheet. Athlete grade levels should be listed with class abbreviations ( FR, SO, JR, SR).

Rosters from the WVSSAC for your team will be printed on Wednesday, May 6th. Check and make any needed updates or corrections on this site as any athlete not on this roster will not be permitted to participate in the Regional Meet on the day of the meet. Take the time to double check the roster on the WVSSAC website.

If you know that you have changes you would like to make after you send the entries, please email them to me by 11:00 AM, Wednesday May 13th. You will still be able to make changes before the meet but it will save the computer operators a lot of time on the day of the meet if we get some of the changes early.

If a question arises during the scratch meeting regarding an entry time for an athlete or relay, please have appropriate documentation to prove your entry time.
