There have been some pretty dramatic changes for the advancement of Field Event Qualifiers to the State Meet.

Always before, the top 4 from each Region plus anyone hitting an automatic qualifying mark advanced to the State Meet. Now, that is only true for the High Jump and Pole Vault. Long Jump, Shot Put, and Discus will now advance in the same manner as running events. The top 3 in each event from the Regional will advance, and the next 4 best performances. What this means is that there will definitely not be more than 16 qualifiers in those three events.

The High Jump and Pole Vault will continue as before with the top 4 from each Region plus anyone who meets the automatic qualifying standard. However, the Automatic Qualifying Standard has been increased for AAA Pole Vault to 12'0 for boys and 9'0 for Girls. In addition, the Automatic Qualifying Standard has been increased for the AAA Girls and Class A Girls High Jump to 5'2 and 4'10, respectively.
