AAU National Championships Norfolk State University Norfolk VA

After competing since Monday the Capital City Striders have totaled 4 medals:

Lauren London, Hurricane WV 13 year old girls pole vault 2^nd clearing 9 ft

Mark Britton, Pennsboro, WV 17-18 young men discus 3^rd 169 ft 3 in

Mark Britton, Pennsboro, WV 17-18 young men shot put 7^th 50 ft 6.25 in

Sam Thomas, Charleston 8^th 12 year old boys 3000 meter run 10:10:45.04 See finish picture attached as appeared in Norfolk paper.

Unattached WV athlete Karrisa Knabenshue of Buckhannon was on the medal stand twice:

6^th in the Girls 17-18 Discus 104’0”

6^th in the Girls 17-18 Shot Put 39’11”

AAU Junior Olympic National Championships Norfolk State University Norfolk VA

On the last day of the Junior Olympics Capital City Striders add three medals to West Virginia’s total:

Caleb Pell, Looneyville, WV 13 year old boy pole vault placed 5^th clearing 8 ft 6in

Ramone Garnett Jr. Charleston WV 12 year old boys shot put 6^th throwing 39.10 m

Cassidy Osbourn-Buttler, Charleston, WV 12 year old girls shot put 6^th throwing 33.6m

After one week of competition, the Capital City Striders won a total of seven of the nine medals won by West Virginia youth.
