Washington Irving Middle School in Clarksburg, WV invites your school Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams to the 3rd annual “FIRST CALL” Open House Track Meet, at Robert C. Byrd Track Complex - Saturday, March 28, 2009.

            The Field events will start at 10:00 a.m. with the running events (girls 4X8), soon after .  The First Call Open House will be a One Session meet with a short break after the completion of the 400 meter dashes.

EARLY  PRE-REGISTRATION is REQUIRED this year.    “All events”

                                   *Registration method will be posted later!

             The Scratch and Add meeting in the Press box will start at 8:00 in order to stage the heats.  COACHES remember that the ‘Hot’ heats in the speed events are last.  PLEASE list available times for all your entries in the 100 and the 200 meter individual races, and your “A” team relay. 

No more than 8 entries in the 100 and 200…….girls and boys.

NOTE:  IF lanes are open, we will put your younger kids in them.  We will fill the lanes at the meeting.

Yes, you may bring all your eligible student-athletes with 14 practices. 

Please limit your relay entries to no more than one A and one B… and one C team if room is available on a heat sheet,  But remember the uniform’s have to be different.    AGAIN, the Hot relays are last, so enter a time for your “A” team.

 

GENERAL NOTES:

Entry Fee- $25.00 per school ………..$15.00 per single team.

Awards-   Team trophies ONLY this year.  1st, 2nd and 3rd places …… Girls and Boys. 

                 No individual awards.

Facilities- Dressing rooms are the Field House bathrooms so keep your stuff with you.

                 DO NOT leave your stuff in dressing rooms. 

                   NO SPIKES in the bleachers.

                   Tents allowed, but not directly above FINISH LINE or in front of Press Box.

                   There is an entrance charge at the Main Gate for the general public.

                 Concession is OPEN.

 

*The First Call meet is early in the season and is planned to help your team in placement of the athletes on your depth charts and to determine who can do what in competition.  The Field events must be started on time, so therefore I am asking each team to supply some people for these events.  With this many kids, these events are lengthy, so we need to switch people in and out.   The FINISH LINE results procedure is being updated,  BUT we will still need TIMERS, (and pickers to keep things copacetic and heats moving quickly).
