From what I'm told, the WVSSAC is really pushing the sanctioning of meets. I've been informed of a wrestling team that went to an unsanctioned meet and was forced to return their medals and team trophy from the meet. They were also put on probation for a year.

It is recommended that all schools hosting meets with more than four teams and giving awards obtain sanctioning.

There is a two page form that can be found in the forms section on the WVSSAC Web Site. Sanctioning if free, so there's no reason not to do it.
