When: Saturday, April 19, 2008, 9:00 am.  Coaches and team captains meeting will be @ 8:15 am.

 

Where: West Virginia University Track & Field Complex, Morgantown WV.

 

Entries: One (1) relay per team in each event, three (3) individuals per team in each event. Entries are due by Wednesday, April 16, 2008 by 7:00 pm. There will be no additional entries accepted after that time.  Each athlete may enter no more than 4 events.   This includes field events and relays.  Entries should be emailed to icipolat@wvutrackandfield.com. 

 

High School Entry Fee: Fee is $70 per team, whether single or both genders attend.  Checks should be made out to University High School.  Entry fee can be mailed by Monday, April 7, 2008 to:

If you do not wish to mail it, we will accept the entry fee the day of the meet.

 

Scratches:  No Scratches.   If an athlete scratches that athlete will be scratched from the entire meet.

 

Field events: High school field events will be High Jump, Long Jump, Shot, Discus, Pole Vault.  No high school athlete affiliated with a high school team will be allowed in the Javelin, Triple Jump, or Hammer Throw.  All field events will have preliminaries and finals, with three attempts in preliminaries followed by three more attempts in finals.  The top seven competitors from prelims will advance to finals.   

 

Track events: Heat order will be fastest seeded section first.

 

Concessions: A variety of cold concessions will be sold during the meet.

 

Sanctioning: The meet will be sanctioned by the WVSSAC and the NHFS for interstate competition.  All schools must be a member of their State High School Association.

 

Protest Fee:  A $50 cash protest fee must be paid at the time a protest is filed. This fee will be refunded only if your protest is upheld.

 

 

Additional notes:

We will have starting blocks, but you may bring your own.

You may use spikes up to ¼” long.  Spikes longer than that will result in disqualification. 

There will be no electronic equipment allowed inside the fence either on the track or the infield. 

Individual throwing implements may be weighed and inspected if a record is broken or a qualifying mark is obtained.   

Teams may use the Shell building for warm-up area and for setting up tents.  There is not room around the track to do so. 

We have an order of events, but not a set time schedule.  The start times for events will be determined later once entries have been received.
