5th ANNUAL VERITY PATRIOT RELAYS

Coaches:
The entry fee for each team is $50.00, or both boys and girls teams can be registered for $80.00. Please fax, mail, or e-mail entries. If a school is bringing less than 8 athletes total, the individual entry fee is $5 per athlete. Each “B” team can enter for $25.00.
All events, including field events, will be conducted as relays. Best performances of participants from each school will be totaled to determine a team effort, which will then be awarded places. Scoring will be 10-8-6-4-2-1. Medals will be awarded to first through third place, and ribbons to fourth through sixth place finishers. Trophies will be awarded to first and second place teams.

E-mail, mail or fax relay team times for each race, along with names and distance/height of two (2) athletes in each field event by Monday, April 7th. A $15 late fee will be charged after this date. We will allow any school to enter two relay teams, but only one team would score. “B” Teams will be scored separately and this doesn’t pertain to them.
Our eight-lane rubberized track surface requires ¼” or shorter spikes. NO TAPE is to be used anywhere on the track or runway surfaces. Chalk and aluminum runway markers will be available. We ask that each team provide a volunteer (assistant coach/parent) to help conduct the events. We have two runways into a large common pit. With enough volunteers, the triple jump and long jump may be conducted simultaneously. Please list the name of one volunteer on the entry forms.

A coaches meeting will be at 5:15 p.m. at the start/finish line and competition will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the field events. Running events will begin at 6:00 p.m. and then proceed on a rolling schedule. Concessions will be available and anyone other than athletes, coaches and bus drivers will be charged admission to enter the facility. Restrooms will be available at the Ashland Athletic Complex.

*Field Event Relay (4x100) – Athletes must have competed in
either the shot put or discus (Meet officials will be checking athletes
eligibility for this event and this will be a scored event)
4x400 Relay
Discus - boys, then girls
Shot put - girls, then boys
High Jump - boys, then girls
Long Jump - girls, then boys*
Triple Jump - boys, then girls*
Pole vault - girls, then boys
* Long jump and Triple Jump will be conducted as a one (1) hour open pit, in order shown on schedule
COACHES: Please note that athletes are not permitted in the infield unless competing in a field event or are asked to report there by an official for a running event. Our primary concern is the safety of all participants!!!
Keeping athletes out of this area will also help ensure
the meet runs as smoothly and quickly as possible. WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO HAVE A
