Coaches,

 

Many of you have already contacted me requesting information pertaining to our invitational this year formerly known as the Coca Cola Classic, TCHS Invitational. We now have a new sponsor so the meet will be called:

 

The Momentive Performance Classic, Tyler Consolidated Invitational

 

Date:               Saturday, April 5, 2008

Times:             10:00 a.m. pick up packets in the press box

                        10:30 a.m. last minute scratches due in press box

(Please make every effort to fax your scratches to us by 2:00 Friday afternoon!)

11:00 a.m. field events begin

11:30 a.m. running events begin

 

Coaches Deadlines:

                        Your entry must be in our hands by 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1st 2008!

                       

                        If you prefer to use the paper entry, please use a generic form with all athletes’ names in alphabetical order and post performances (from this year) for both individuals and relays. Fax: 304-758-9006 Otherwise, your athletes will not get the preferred lanes/heats. If you need a form let me know and I will fax you one.

 

I will have the event file posted on runwv.com for you to use. Please email your entry to me using that event file only.

                        We would greatly appreciate it if you could mail your entry fee to us by Tuesday, April 1st. However, entry fees may be hand delivered the day of the meet. If you did not pay your fee last year don’t bother coming.

 

                        Scratches are due by 2:00 on Friday, April 4th. Fax them to TCHS at: 304-758-9006, Attention: Coach Joe Semple. You may also email them to me at the above address. (Please do not email them to me late on Friday and expect me to have them.)

 

Last minute scratches will be accepted the day of the meet but please keep these to a minimum, (and none after 10:30 a.m.) Please confirm that we received your fax from the day before.

 

Entry Fee:      $35.00 per team or $70.00 per school for both boys and girls teams

 

Entries:           3 athletes per event maximum, 4 events per athlete

 

Awards:          Medals for 1st- 3rd places, Ribbons for 4th- 6th places

                        Team plaques for 1st- 3rd places

                        Plaques for overall high point boy/ girl

 

Field Events:  3 attempts in the shot put, discus, and long jump, finals to follow.

                        Use your own implements. All implements are subject to inspection.

                        Each pole vaulter must have the required form with proper signatures. Please use the WVSSAC pole vault weight verification form. Your vaulter’s must hand this completed form to the official at the event prior to participating. Call if you need one.

 

Running events:

                        This is a two session meet and we will follow the WVSSAC schedule of events. Call if you need one.

                        We will run trials in the morning session and one heat of finals for each race in the 100, 200, 100HH and 110HH in the second session.

 

Equipment:     ¼” Pyramid spikes on the track and runways only! (Not in the stands!)

                        ½ Tennis balls or tape may be used on the track during relays. Adhesive tape may only be used to mark in the high jump pit area.

 

Please contact Mr. Yoho or myself ASAP if you plan to attend. Do not assume that you are on our list simply because you attended last year. We have a limited amount of space and it will be on a first come first served basis. You must also provide us with the following information: School name, Coaches manes, Phone/Fax numbers, and email addresses.
