Dear Track Coaches,

 

We would like to invite your team to the 2nd Annual Webster County Relays.  The "WC Relay" will be a relays format meet modeled after the Preston Border Clash Relays, that will have up to eight high schools (the first 5 teams to contact us that they are coming will be added to the meet) competing against each other on our 5 lane track.  Field events will also be contested with the top three individual efforts rounded to the nearest ˝ inch then added together for a team total those totals will determine the placing.   The following schools participated last year and will be invited to the “Webster County Relays” there is room for up to 4 more schools and maybe more  this is a fun and challenging meet and we hope to see you all there:

EVENT SCHEDULE:   The meet will begin in the afternoon.  Field events and the 4 x 1600 meter relay will begin around 3:30 p.m or after the Boy/Girl High Jump has finished.  The first rotation for field events will be as follows:  Boys Shot, Girls Discus, Boys Long Jump, and Girls High Jump.  The second rotation will be on a rolling schedule with Both Boys and Girls Pole Vault in this rotation.  Running / hurdle relays will be girls first followed by the boys. 

 

 

3:15 p.m.                      - Coaches Meeting

3:30 p.m.                      - Field Events and 4 x 1600 Relay. After completion of the High Jump

4:30 p.m.                      - Shuttle Hurdle Relay (4 x 102.5 m. for girls and 4 x 110 m. for boys)

- 4 x 200 Relay

                                    - 4 x 800 Relay

                                    - Sprint Medley Relay (100, 100, 200, 400)

                                    - Distance Medley Relay (800, 400, 1200, 1600)

                                    - 4 x 100 Relay

- Throwers 4 x 100 Relay (this will be a non-scored event).   

                                    - 4 x 400 Relay

 

AWARD:   The Relay Cup will be awarded to the top overall school (boys and girls team scores will be added together).    1st place ribbons will be awarded in each event.

 

ENTRY FEE:   The entry fee is $40.00 per school to cover the cost of the awards.  There will also be an admission fee of $3.00/Student & 4.00/Adult.

 

CONCESSIONS:   Hot and cold concessions will be available by the Webster County High Athletic Boosters.
