Tone Belt Wins Silver at World Junior Olympics

Former Berkeley Springs standout Tone Belt traveled to Beijing, China with Team USA to compete in the IAAF World Junior Championships. Belt qualified for the finals, but the jumps are wiped out heading into the finals, putting him back on an even field with his competitors. Belt was standing in 2nd place when a jump by an Australian competitor 5 leaps into the competition knocked him back to 3rd place. Tone Belt countered with a leap of 26'1 pulled him back into 2nd place, which he would hold. The 26'1 leap was Belt's first past 26'0. Congratulations to Tone Belt for representing his Country and our State well once again. Additional information can be found at www.usatf.org.
