Dear Athletic Directors and Track Coaches:

Jefferson High School would like to invite your track teams to participate in the Jim Taylor Relays and/or the Walker/Wilcox Invitational.  The Jim Taylor Relays will be held on March 25, 2006 and includes relay and field events only.  The Walker/Wicox Invitational will be held on May 6, 2006, and will follow the traditional West Virginia format for a two-session meet.  Both meets are scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start time.

The Jim Taylor Relays has hosted teams from Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia over the past several years and hopes to draw its largest field ever this year.  All schools will be able to enter at least one relay team (depending on the number of teams that register) in all running and field
events.  Field events are scored by tallying the heights or distances of three athletes from the same school.

Toward the end of the season, many area teams will want to use the Walker/Wilcox Invitational as a last chance to tune-up before postseason championships begin.  The JHS track is an eight-lane, all-weather rubber surface and is currently slated to serve as the host site for the 2006 West
Virginia Region II AAA Championships.

Entries will be limited to 16 teams per meet.  Fees for each meet will be $50 per team or $90 for schools entering both boys and girls teams.  Please register at your earliest convenience as priority will be given to the first 16 teams to sign up.  Because these will be WVSSAC sanctioned meets, confirmation of your attendance is requested by February 15, 2006.
