Capital City Striders at Russell Blount East Coast Invitational

Members of the Capital City Striders Track & Field Club competed this weekend at newly renovated, Aggie Stadium in Greensboro NC. More than 6000 student athletes from every state, the Bahamas, Bermuda and Mexico competed in the three-day International event.

The WV athletes were using this meet as a tune up for the AAU & USATF National Championships coming up this week and next.

Medal winners were;

17-18 Young Women’s 
Pole Vault	Maggie Tincher - First    11’
		Jennifer Hansen - Third   10’6”

Long Jump 	Shardal Twyman - Second 17’6.75”


15-16 Intermediate Girls    
High Jump 	Kendall McCaugherty - First  5’5.25”  (NEW MEET RECORD)

13-14 Youth Girls                
800 meter run	Chelsea Knotts  - Third    2:18.72  (First time breaking 2:20.0 mark)      

11-12  Midget Girls    
Shot Put	Leigh Poindexter   - Fourth          27’10”

Knotts will compete in Eugene, Oregon this weekend and the others will be in Des Moines Iowa, Aug. 2-7.
