Dear Track Coaches,

 

We would like to invite your team to the 1st Annual Preston Border Clash Relays.  The "Border Clash" will be a relays format meet that will have all the high schools that border Preston County competing against each other.  Field events will also be contested with the top three individual efforts added together for a team total.   The following schools will be invited to the “2004 Border Clash Relays”:

 

·         Barbour County – Philip Barbour Colts

·         Garrett County, MD – Northern Garrett Huskies, Southern Garrett Rams

·         Monongalia County – Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees, Morgantown Mohigans, University Hawks

·         Preston County – Preston Knights

·         Taylor County - Grafton Bearcats

·         Tucker County – Tucker County Mountain Lions

      

DATE:    Tuesday, April 13th, 2004 (rain date is Wednesday, April 14th)

           
EVENT SCHEDULE:
   The first rotation for field events will be as follows:  Boys Shot, Girls Discus, Girls Pole Vault, Boys Long Jump, and Girls High Jump.  The second rotation will be on a rolling schedule.  Running / hurdle relays will be girls first followed by the boys.  The only exception to this is the 4 x 400 which will be a mixed relay (two males and two females).

 

3:00 p.m.                     - Field Events and 4 x 1600 Relay (combined)

 

3:30 p.m.                     - Shuttle Hurdle Relay

- 4 x 200 Relay

                                    - 4 x 800 Relay

                                    - Sprint Medley Relay (100, 100, 200, 400)

                                    - Distance Medley Relay (800, 400, 1200, 1600)

                                    - 4 x 100 Relay

- Throwers 4 x 100 Relay (this will be a non-scored event).   

                                    - 4 x 400 Mixed Relay (two males and two females)

 

AWARDS:   The Border Clash Cup will be a traveling trophy awarded to the top overall school (boys and girls team scores will be added together).

 

ENTRY FEE:   There will not be an entry fee for each school.  However, there will be an admission fee of $1.00 for spectators.   Remind parents that bleacher seating is limited.

 

CONCESSIONS:   Hot and cold concessions will be available by the Preston High Track Parents
