THROWS CLINIC

February 23, 2002 is the date for Ritchie County High School’s 2nd Annual Throws Clinic. Once again the clinic is sponsored in part by John Powell Associates and will feature Coach Bill Witt. Bill brings eighteen years of coaching and summer camp experience to this clinic and will share techniques learned personally from Olympians and former world record holders, John Powell, Brian Oldfield and current U.S. record holder Carol Cady.
Through his role as the camp director for the John Powell Throwing Camp in Dennison, Ohio for the past 17 years, as the director and lead clinician at the Messiah College Throws Camp in Grantham, PA and having served as an assistant at the Stanford University Throws Camp, Bill has gained a wealth of knowledge to share with coaches and athletes alike.
The clinic is designed to help develop training techniques in the shot and discus in a learn-by-doing format. Each participant will be exposed to activities intended to provide a foundation for improvement, whether an athlete or a coach.
