The Midwest Meet of
Champions is a four team All-Star Track and Field Meet composed of athletes
from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and West Virginia. Each state fields a team of its best senior
athletes for this mythical battle for track and field supremacy in the Midwest.
The teams will meet at Ohio
Wesleyan University in Delaware Ohio on Friday, June 08 where they will be fed
and housed prior to Saturday’s meet on June 9th. The West Virginia
Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches will sponsor West Virginia
Athletes.
This meet is unique in that
it is the only All-Star Meet in the country that crowns a team champion. It receives wide media coverage and is
attended by numerous college coaches, looking to fill scholarship quotas.
Teams from Ohio, Michigan,
and Indiana have been very successful in the past with many future
All-Americans and even Olympians participating. West Virginia is a
relative newcomer and this will be their fifth trip to the meet. Our team has gotten bigger and better every
year as the word gets out about the opportunities.
The team is selected after
the State Meet with consideration to performances at that meet as well as
throughout the season. Our goal as
always is to recruit the best senior athletes available in West Virginia and we
hope that you are interested in representing the State in this prestigious
meet.

The estimated cost to
participate in the meet is $55.00. This
will include a banquet on Friday night, one night stay at Ohio Wesleyan
University, and your uniform (which you get to keep).
