Mark your calendars for January 20, 2001. Ritchie County High School is sponsoring a Throws Clinic in association with John Powell Associates and featuring Coach Bill Witt. Bill brings seventeen years of coaching and summer camp experience to this clinic and will share techniques learned personally from Olympians and former world record holders, John Powell, Brian Oldfield and current U.S. record holder Carol Cady.

As the camp director for the John Powell Throwing Camp in Dennison Ohio, (which is in its 16th year), director and lead clinician at the Messiah College Throws Camp in Grantham, PA and having served as an assistant at the Stanford University Throws Camp, Bill carrys a wealth of knowledge to share with coaches and athletes alike. Bill has coached multiple high school state medalists, district champions, conference champions, and collegiate record holders and is currently the throws coach for Northern High School in Pennsylvania.

This clinic is designed to help develop training techniques in the shot and discus in a learn by doing format. Each attendant will be exposed to activities intended to provide a foundation for improvement, whether an athlete or a coach.

The Time: 9:30 am to 3:30 pm

The Cost: If registered by Jan. 12, 2001, $12.00/attendant (After the 12th, $15.00/attendant)

This clinic is a unique opportunity open to all high school athletes and coaches who can benefit from improved skill development and sound training techniques provided by a dynamic teacher.
