Parkersburg's Mary Beth Held took West Virginia girl's high school pole vaulting to new heights when she cleared 10'0 at Friday's Walt Dryden Invitational held at Laidley Field in Charleston.
The previous mark was 9'10 set by Doddridge's Lisa Davis in 1999. Held won the inaugural state championship pole vault in 1998 and finsihed second to Fairmont Senior's Darcy Thompson in the 1999 state meet.
