Individual Predictions

100 M	1. Ciara Chic Riverside
	2. Milan Cary Capital
	3. Lindsey Stewat	Hampshire
	4. Jenny Rayburn	Hurricane
	5. Kris Morris Jefferson
	6. Dawn Dobbs Fairmont Senior

Anyone but Chic would be an upset in this event as she has
her eyes on the state record. Defending champion Cary should
be able to hold off the rest of the field. Morris's slight
injury makes her vulnerable and she and Dobbs will have to
hold off about 5 other strong contenders to keep their place
	in line.

200M	1. Ciara Chic Riverside
	2. Milan Cary Capital
	3. Lindsey Stewart	Hampshire
	4. Jenny Rayburn	Hurricane
	5. Te' Peters Martinsburg
	6. Nikki Painter	Buckhannon Upshur

Chic is again the strong favorite with a chance at the state
record with the top 4 solidly ahead of the rest of the field.
Peters and Painter get a nod over the Cassie Bishop (the only
other runner with a reported sub 27 clocking) and a rapidly
	improving Terri Young.

400M	1. Ciara Chic Riverside
	2. Jennifer Davis	Hampshire
	3. Stephanie Eastman	Roane
	4. Carrie Barrick	Keyser
	5. Amanda Hall Fairmont Senior
	6. Shannon Tobias	Martinsburg

Chic should again come out on top and with a little push from Davis
has an outside shot at this state record as well. Davis (5) and
Eastman (2) are the only other runners with multiple sub 60 times
this year. Barrick (3rd last year as well as sporting a time already
in the 59's this year) gets the nod over defending champion Hall.
The final 2 positions in this event are wide open with no less than
7 girls having an excellent shot of taking the positions. Include among
those contenders are Wharton and Quinlan who each placed in last years
	state meet.

800M	1. Giti Farudi University
	2. Holly Hunter East Fairmont
	3. Jennifer Davis	Hampshire
	4. Stephanie Eastman	Roane
	5. Susan Davis Hampshire
	6. Amanda Hall Fairmont Senior

The 800 marks the 4th straight event where we pick against the
defending AAA girls champion. Farudi will be fresher than Hunter who
will have already ran the 4x800, 1600 and 3200 and has ran the only (2)
recorded times under 2:20 in the state this year. Her best time this
year is within a half second of Hunter's 98 record. Jennifer Davis and
Eastman will use their 400 speed to hold off twin sister Susan Davis
and Amanda Hall. Tobias and Wharton also have the speed and credentials
to slip into the scoring column if any of the above should falter.

1600M	1. Holly Hunter East Fairmont
	2. Susan Davis Hampshire
	3. Sarah Corley Fairmont Senior
	4. Amanda Conrad	East Fairmont
	5. Rachel Fox Parkersburg South
	6. Ryann Metheny	Elkins

Hunter and Davis are well ahead of the field with Hunter securing the
top spot by virtue of better times and well as better speed in the 800
Seasoned Corley should take 3rd. Conrad gets the nod over Fox after
defeating her in regionals. Metheny will need to run well to stay ahead
	of Cantrell and Carden.

3200M	1. Holly Hunter East Fairmont
	2. Susan Davis Hampshire
	3. Jennifer Davis	Hampshire
	4. Sarah Corley Fairmont Senior
	5. Stephanie Hatfield	Robert C Byrd
	6. Ryann Metheny	Elkins

This race appears to be broken up in twosomes with Hunter and Susan Davis
again ahead of the field. That pair will be followed by Jennifer Davis
and Sarah Coley (around 15 seconds back) and then Hatfield and Metheny
another 30 seconds back. If anyone falters, Cantrell appears to the next
	most likely followed by Stover.

110H	1. Erica Reese Capital
	2. Rebecca Ripoli	Fairmont Senior
	3. Jennifer Boyer	Jefferson
	4. Brianna Jones	Parkersburg
	5. Kimba Hissom Huntington
	6. Nancy Regalbuto	Hedgesville

Reese gets the nod over Ripoli with her top 5 times being better than
Ripoli's top times. If either stumble, Boyer will be ready to move up.
Jones and Hissom have the next best times with Hissom clocking the better
times in the last few weeks. A slightly injured Regalbuto will have to
hold off a strong challenge by Andi Rose with Regalbuto getting the nod
due to a better regional showing.

300H	1. Rebecca Ripoli	Fairmont Senior
	2. Jennifer Boyer	Jefferson
	3. Erica Reese Capital
	4. Andi Rose Wheeling Park
	5. Kimba Hissom Huntington
	6. Briana Jones Parkersburg

This event was probably the most debated event of the AAA Girls. No less
than 10 hurdlers have a real shot at placing. Defending Champion Ripoli
should repeat but Boyer will push her. After that, things get fuzzy. Reese
was placed 3rd due to her superior speed and the all around Rose placed
4th on her rapidly improving times. Hissom (2nd in state last year) was
picked next for her consistency with Jones rounding out the places. If Jones
is on, she could easily go as high as 3rd. Regalbuto's slight injury has
placed her along with Jade Barney (4th last year) in the "slow" heat. The
fact that those two are together in the "slow" heat should help offset not
being in the hot heat. Regalbuto has the 3rd fastest clocking in the state
this year in this event so if she's fully healthy and gets a good push in
her heat, she could challenge everyone on the list. Wharton and Cox also
have the ability to score in this tough field.

4x100	1. Jefferson
	2. Martinsburg
	3. Huntington
	4. Capital
	5. Parkersburg
	6. East Fairmont

Jefferson has the states best two times this year and topped all regional
qualifers. Martinsburg has the only other sub 51 time in the state this
year and looks good for second. Huntington and Capital have come in under
52 with Huntington doing it twice and having the 2nd best regional mark.
Parkersburg and East Fairmont should take the final two spots with Parkersburg
getting the nod for a head to head victory over East Fairmont in the regionals.
Neither should look over their shoulder because Chic of Riverside will be
closing like a freight train. Elkins also has a chance to slip in here.

4x200	1. Capital
	2. Jefferson
	3. Huntington
	4. Morgantown
	5. Parkersburg South
	6. Martinsburg

Capital has clocked 5 of the 6 fastest times in the state this year and their
best is nearly 1.5 seconds better than the next best team. Jefferson is the
only other team to clock under 1:49 (with two 1:47's), Huntington and
Morgantown have also gone under 1:50 with Huntington being the more consistent
of the two. Parkersburg South and Martinsburg will fill out the positions
(with South getting the nod based on regional times) but not without a battle
from University and a host of others.

4x400	1. Buckhannon Upshur
	2. Hedgesville
	3. Fairmont Senior
	4. Roane
	5. Martinsburg
	6. Parkersburg South

This was another highly debated event with at least 10 teams having the ability
to place. Buckhannon Upshur and Hedgesville seem to be solid picks for first
and second due to the fact that they have several very talented runners that
have ran the open 400 well. Additionally, none of their runners will have
had to run a grueling 800 in the sun approximately an hour before the final
event is set to begin. Fairmont Senior, Martinsburg and Roane (and likely South)
will have all had runners going all out to place in the 800 that may take a
little out of their 400 potential. On the other hand, these teams also faced
the same situation in regionals and fared well. Roane will have to do it from
the slow heat but will have University to push them. Morgantown, Hurricane,
Elkins and University could also score (and possibly score high).

4x800	1. East Fairmont
	2. Fairmont Senior
	3. Buckhanon Upshur
	4. Martinsburg
	5. Hedgesville
	6. Preston

East Fairmont has posted the years two best times and has a bead on the top
spot. Fairmont Senior has the talent to make a run at them but will likely
fall just a litte short. Buckhannon Upshur and Martinsburg come next on the
virtue of their regional times followed closely by Hedgesville. Preston will
make the most of their only chance to score and take the final spot.
Parkersburg, Brooke and Huntington could also score in this event.

Shuttle	1. Parkersburg South
	2. Parkersburg
	3. Capital
	4. Huntington
	5. Fairmont Senior
	6. Martinsburg

The Parkersburg schools (who always seem to be at the top in this event) will
continue last year's struggle for the top. South gets the nod on the basis
of their regional win, top time and more times under 1:06. Capital could
also factor in this race with the second best time in the state this year
but was placed behind Parkersburg due to Parkersburg's greater consistency.
Huntington comes in next, nearly two seconds behind 3rd place but a full
half second in front of nearest next competitor. Fairmont Senior and
Martinsburg are nearly a second better than 7th place with Senior picked 5th
on the virtue of their regional time.

H Jump	1. Roxanne Ward Parkersburg
	2. Erica Reese Capital
	3. Miranda Dunn Parkersburg South
	4. Britney Amodio	Robert C Byrd
	5. Nancy Regalbuto	Hedgesville
	6. Katie Kilcollin	Greenbrier East

Ward's 5'6 regional jump gave her the best mark this year and she also has
at least four other jumps of 5'2 or greater. Reese is the only other jumper
to clear 5'4 at least twice. Dunn has cleared 5'2 twice and has been jumping
well recently. Amodio has cleared 5'4 but a 4'10 regional shows she is
vulnerable to an off day. Regalbuto is the only other jumper that has cleared
over 5'0 multiple times. Kilcollin has cleared 5'2 this year and has shown
the ability to survive in states with a 6th place showing last year. Nikki
Daniel, Christy Mallett and Jamie Wilcox have also gone over 5'0.

L Jump	1. Milan Cary Capital
	2. Roxanne Ward Parkersburg
	3. Alisha Hopkins	Oak Hill
	4. Terri Young Cabell Midland
	5. Danyell Garner	Logan
	6. Lindsey Stewart	Hampshire

Cary has 4 of the best 5 leaps in class AAA this year including the only one
over 18'. Defending champion Ward has cleard 17 twice. Hopkins has the only
other 17+ mark and finished 3rd in the state last year. Young only began to
jump recently had has steadily improved. Garner gets the edge over last years
runner up Stewart on the basis that the average of her best 3 jumps is higher.
Rose, Wade and Snyder have also cleared 16' this year and could place if
any of the above fail to get their steps down.

P Vault	1. Mary Beth Held	Parkersburg
	2. Ashley Dunn Parkersburg South
	3. Darcy Thompson	Fairmont Senior
	4. Angela Wallace	Parkersburg
	5. Kristin Hustead	Wheeling Park
	6. Salina Coleman	Parkersburg South

Held was the first too clear 10'0 and the only to clear 10'6 (5 times). Dunn
is the only other vaulter to hit 10'0 multiple(3) times. Thompson of Fairmont
Senior is the defending champion and her 10'0 in regions serves notice that
she can contend again. Wallace has cleared 8'6 more than any other remaining
competitor. Hustead has been jumping well lately and she and Coleman are the
only other jumpers with multiple jumps 8'6 or higher. Patton of University
has cleared 9'0 but has no other reported jumps over 8'0. Stewart (Tied 3rd last
year) and Shaffer have also gone over 8'0.

Discus	1. Ilora Cipolat	Woodrow Wilson
	2. Allison Burner	Parkersburg
	3. Lisa Cooper Nitro
	4. Jodi Curran Keyser
	5. Tosha Hedges Martinsburg
	6. Shavana Jones	Hurricane

Cipolat has the divisions best mark this year and has 4 throws of 117 or
greater. Burner (3rd last year) is the only other thrower with more than
1 throw over 117 (2). Cooper has shown the ability to consistently throw
over 110. Curran has the second best mark in the division this year but
her consistency isn't quite that of Cooper or Burner. Hedges placed 4th in
the state last year but has yet to unleash a high ranking throw. Her
strength though is hard to ignore and if she gets everything together on a
a throw, could steal 1st place. Jones finishes out the order and has also
thrown consistently this year. Candace Burge of Huntington had an excellent
regional throw and could place but has nothing to back that throw up. Erin
Bartlett and Deidra Davis have also gone over 110'. Finally, Anna Corbin
has thrown more consistently than those ahead of her and could place if
	others are a little off.

Shot	1. Roxanne Ward Parkersburg
	2. Jodi Curran Keyser
	3. Allison Burner	Parkersburg
	4. Tosha Hedges Martinsburg
	5. Ashley Bennett	Fairmont Senior
	6. Lisa Cooper Nitro

Ward is the only thrower to top 39' (3 times) and placed 3rd in the state
last year. Curran has topped 38' twice and 37' two more times. Consistent
Burner (4th in states last year) has topped 37' four times. Hedges has
gone over 38' but has only 1 other throw over 37'. Bennett and Cooper both
can throw around 36' with Bennett getting there more often. Candace Burge
has thrown 37' but has only a 33' toss to back it up.
