Meet: Class AAA Girls State Meet Predictions
Location: Cabell Midland High School
Date: To be held November 1, 2025
Predicted Class AAA Girls Results
Bridgeport should have this one well in hand. However, if one of their top 5 is sick or gets hurt this week, this
becomes quite the shootout. I have Bridgeport winning this by 42 points. The next 3 spots are separated by
just 5 points with Greenbrier East getting a slight edge over Elkins and Herbert Hoover. St. Albans looks
pretty good for 5th, and Fairmont Senior slips past Shady Spring for 6th. It would be very surprising for anyone
outside those top 4 to be in the top 3.
1. Bridgeport 66
2. Greenbrier East 108
3. Elkins 112
4. Herbert Hoover 113
5. St. Albans 131
6. Fairmont Senior 152
7. Shady Spring 156
8. John Marshall 172
9. Grafton 211
10. Winfield 214
11. Keyser 236
12. Spring Valley 265
Predicted Class AAA Girls Top 25
There is no doubting that Maysen Fletcher is the bully in this field. She has not been remotely threatened in
state this year and dropped a sub-17 at The Great American XC Festival on 10/4. The battle for 2nd is what is
fun as I think there are 4...maybe 5...in the running. I went with Emilia Tenney for the spot. After a bit of
a slow (for her) start, she has ascended late in the season. She runs a very disciplined race, so she's unlikely
to make a mistake. I put Needa McClintic in the 3rd spot. She's ranked 2nd and had the 2nd best Regional run
so moving into that 2nd spot would not be a surprise. Aria Selario gets the 4th pick. She was very close to
Tenney at both the Big 10 Championships and the Regional. Julia Biola gets the nod for 5th. She's was behind
Selario at those same two meets but also has several wins over Tenney earlier in the season. Zoe Zervos gets
the 6th spot. She's fallen a bit behind the others but did have a win over McClintic on this course at the end
of August. Abigail Torman gets the 7th spot. She's been solid all year and is fairly firmly in that ranking.
Juliana von Wulffen is the wildcard pick for 8th. The Regional was her first race of the season after missing a
lot of time over the spring, summer, and early fall with injury, and it wasn't a Top 10 performance, but for
those that don't know her, she ran a 4:59 mile last year in Middle School. I couldn't leave her out because it
would not be a shock for her to be right up there in that battle for 2nd. I put Mikeala Demoss in the 9th spot.
She's ranked 8th, a fair amount ahead of the rest of the field despite a rough Regional run. I gave the final
spot to Jenna Brown. That's another one that I just wasn't going to leave out with her history of big meet
performances. This was really difficult because I had 13 girls that I absolutely wanted to put into the top 10.
This is probably the race of the day to watch, and it really irritates me that I'm almost assuredly going to miss
it due to the overlap between the AA Awards ceremony and this race.
