Meet: Class AAA Boys State Meet Predictions
Location: Cabell Midland High School
Date: To be held November 1, 2025
Predicted Class AAA Boys Results
University looks like they have a nice gap on the field. Three guys near the very front will do that. I have
them with an advantage of more than 30 points over Cabell Midland. Cabell Midland had some injury issues at
the Regional, and that could impact their race. That could open the door for Morgantown to swoop in and take
the 2nd spot. I have Midland getting it by 17 points, but there is certainly room for it to go the other way.
I have Parkersburg taking 4th over Jefferson by 12, so that one is up for rabs also.

Predicted Class AAA Boys Top 25
Trevor George is the clear favorite for the top spot. I'd go so far as to say, he'd be the favorite for an
All-Classes Race (if only we had a Meet of Champions a week later). Like in the AAA Girls, I like the race for
2nd, and I should get to watch this one. I gave the 2nd spot to Trace Marshall. He hasn't raced any of the other
top dogs since 9/6, but on that day, he knocked off Landon Jones by 22 seconds. Of course, Jones and Luca Altobello
beat him a week earlier at Cabell Midland. I gave Altobello the 3rd spot based on his head-to-head win over Jones
early in the season and a statistically superior Regional run. Jones gets the 4th spot and has a history of
performing very well on the big stage, so moving up to 2nd would be no surprise. I put Troy Zorick in the 5th
spot. He beat Jones at the Big 10 meet and was only 7 seconds behind Altobello at the Regional. I think any
of these 4 guys could take that runner-up spot. I don't rule out my #6 for that either. That spot goes to
Joshua Bodkins, who has been within 5 and 10 seconds of Zorick in the last two weeks. Benjamin Tenney gets the
nod for 7th. Early injuries have hindered his season, but he's on back on the rise late in the season. Colson
Annon is the 8th pick. He's ranked a little ahead of Tenney, had a statistically superior Region, and thumped
Tenney at the Big 10 Meet. That makes it hard to justify putting Tenney ahead of him, but I'm doing it anyway.
Ethan Dowdy gets the 9th spot. I think there's some upward potential there. Josiah Brannen gets the pick for
the final podium spot. He was right on Annon's heels at the Regional. On the right day, I think we go at least
16 deep for podium contenders.
