Meet: Class A Boys State Meet Predictions
Location: Cabell Midland High School
Date: To be held November 1, 2025
Predicted Class A Boys Results
Assuming that they're healthy, Charleston Catholic is a very heavy favorite for this meet. There's a pretty
good chance that they'd be favored in the Class AA Division as well. I have them winning by 32 points. The
battle for 2nd should be interesting. I have Trinity Christian 10 points ahead of St. Marys for the spot, but
if St. Marys runs like they did at the LKC Championships, it could easily go the other way. Ritchie should battle
Tucker for 4th.
1. Charleston Catholic 42
2. Trinity Christian 72
3. St. Marys 82
4. Ritchie 103
5. Tucker 112
6. Wood County Christian 158
7. Wirt 160
8. Webster 217
9. Richwood 239
Predicted Class A Boys Top 25
Peter Basdekis is hands down the favorite. However, he missed the Regional. If he's coming off illness or injury,
it could put the spot in play. I have Will Barton giving Charleston Catholic a 1-2 finish. Honestly, things are
very tight in this as I could see lots of guys climbing as high as the #2 spot. I put Matthew Balis in the 3rd
spot. He had the 2nd best Regional run in the field and is ranked 3rd. He was just 5 seconds behind Barton at
the Regional. I have Koa Navarro in the 4th spot. He's ranked there and actually sports a trio of head-to-head
wins over Balis on the season. Two were very early, but the 3rd was on 10/11 on Balis' home turf. Lynk Suesli
is tabbed for the 5th spot. He had the 3rd best Regional of the group and is on a nice upward trajectory in the
2nd half of the season. I have Bryce Bills in the 6th spot. As I was doing this, I had him as high as 3rd and
as low at 7th. He had a major step-up performance at the State Meet last year to take 3rd. Doing so again would
not be a surprise following very strong Conference and Regional runs. I moved Miles Steptoe up to 7th. I had him
as high as 5th at one point. He's only ranked 9th, but I fully believe he was just going through the motions at
the Regional meet resulting in a big hit to his score. He did that last year and had a very strong State Meet
race. Cameron Judy is in the 8th spot. Like Suesli, he's on a very good trajectory late in the year and has an
October win over Suesli to his credit. Charlie Barton gets the 9th spot. He's been solid all year and is ranked
ahead of both Steptoe and Judy and beat Will Barton at the Kanawha County Championships. I put Riley Dennis in
the 10th spot. After a very rough start to the season, he has come on very well late. Arguments for a podium
position could easily be made nearly down to #20.
