Coaches,

Welcome to the 2025 “Doddridge Invitational”.  We are glad that you are here.

A few notes for you to consider:

1)      A reminder:  There will be no JV races today!  Run all your athletes together in their respective divisions.  Only the top 7 will be counted in the scoring.

2)      Enclosed in your packets are numbers for your runners.  Please check for accuracy and make sure that the runners get their correct numbers.

3)      We should have results available for coaches after the meet.  Just come to the right side door to the small building behind the stage.

4)      If you have any problems, questions, or comments, please let us know (Josh Weekley or Brent Cottrill).  We want this meet to be a good experience for everyone.  We encourage your input to improve this meet!

5)      Awards (Teams 1st – 3rd and individuals 1st – 20th) will be given out at the conclusion of the meet at the stage area.

6)      The High School course is marked with pink arrows.  Where the Middle School course deviates from the High School course, those areas are painted with white arrows.  Ground flags are present throughout the entire course along with many ground arrows.

7)      There are restrooms located on the side of the main building, by the pool, in the small building past the stage near the “counsel circle”, and at the “Lone Pine Campground” on the other side of the bridge.

8)      Joe Gonzalez will be the starter and referee for today’s meet. He will be assisted by Diane Kinney.

9)      You will be supplied with a trash bag for the meet.  We would appreciate any help with the cleanup of your team’s area.  Thanks.

10)  Runners need to stay on the course as there may be holes and/or rocks off to the side.

11)  Concessions may be available in the new building by the swimming pool.  Mother Clucker’s Food Truck will also be on site.  Inspire 111 will be on hand to sell t-shirts, as well.

12)  We spent a lot of time this summer improving the path on the other side of the creek.  It should be much more runner friendly over there now.  We hope your athletes enjoy the improved entrance, pathway, and exit.  We also altered the path that the runners take after rounding the old schoolhouse.  They’ll drop down into the flat rather than stay up by the road.  We felt like that kept them away from rocks and allowed for a wider path.

13)  Admission to the meet will be $5.00 per person, taken at the top of the hill. Buses will park at the Lone Pine Campground. Other vehicles should park in an orderly fashion, being sure to not park on any part of the course.

Approximate Time Schedule:

4:00pm     Coaches’ Meeting at the Stage

4:30pm     High School Girls' Race

5:10pm     High School Boys' Race

5:45pm     Middle School Girls’ Race

6:10pm     Middle School Boys’ Race

6:45pm     Awards will be given out at the stage.

These times are estimates, as we will use a rolling schedule, and timeframes will depend on how long it takes the last runner of each race to get to the finish line.

Good luck in today’s meet!
