Herbert Hoover's Maysen Fletcher took the trip to San Diego's Balboa Park to run the Brooks National Championships on December 13th. She clocked an 18:01.9 for 21st place in the race featuring 47 of the top runners in the Nation.

At the first checkpoint at 0.5 miles, Maysen was in 25th place at 2:38.6. She moved up 4 spots over the next half mile to climb to 21st at 5:24.8. She continued to rise, coming through 1.5 miles in 19th place at 8:21.6. Maysen continued her ascension to the 2 mile mark, coming through in 18th place at 11:25.4. She held that 18th spot through the 2.5 mile mark, coming through at 14:20.6. She continued in 18th through 3 miles at 17:23.7. She got nailed by a few on a very close kick to the finish, coming in 21st in 18:01.9. 17th through 22nd was decided by just 1.4 seconds.

This caps another phenomenal season for Maysen Fletcher, who continues to cement her legacy as one of our All-Time Greats.
