Individual Advancement Clarification

I've recevied a couple e-mails about this, so I'll take a shot at explaining it (at least as I understand it).

There is confusion about individual qualifiers and the fact that it says "Top 5 Exclusive" but also says "The Top 10 Finishers in the Regional Meet will qualify."

It's hard to explain in plain language. Basically, it's 5 exclusive or top 10, whichever comes last. This will likely only be an issue in a Region that only has 1 complete team or a Region in which the a qualifying complete team has limited runners near the front.

Example A
Last Year AAA Region 1 Girls - Morgantown, University, and Preston advanced. Those 3 teams took up 9 of the top 10 spots. The 5 exclusive would have been Zervos, Shreve, Storm, Guthoerl, and Reese. So, the top 10 all advanced, but to get 5 exclusive, we actually had to get down to #23.

Example B
This is a little more hypothetical. A Region - 1 team advances - that team takes up 3 of the top 10 spots. 5 exclusive would only get us to 8 advancers. Since the Top 10 all qualify, the 9th and 10th ones advance as well. That Region actually gets 7 individuals instead of 5.
