Region III-AA Cross Country Championships

Schools:           Bluefield, Clay County, Herbert Hoover, Independence, Liberty, Nicholas

County, PikeView, Shady Spring, Westside, Wyoming East.

 

Location:        Little Beaver State Park Campgrounds, Beaver, West Virginia

Once in the park, go through the gate, go straight at the intersection to the top of the hill. CARS will be directed where to park, BUSES will unload at the top, then follow directions for parking.

                          1:45 pm                       High School Boys (5K)

 

Awards:          Individual Awards to Top 10 Girls & Top 10 Boys.

WVSSAC Plaque awarded to 1st Place Team in Girls and Boys Divisions.

 

Qualifying:      Teams:  Based on the number of full teams starting the race.  At least 5 team members must start the race to count as a full team.  1 team starting race equals 1 Qualifier.  2-5 teams starting race equals 2 Qualifiers; 6-9 teams starting race equals 3 Qualifiers; 10 or more teams starting race equals 4 Qualifiers.

 

                          Individuals:  Each Region qualifies 20% of the total number of runners that start the regional race, inclusive of those runners that may have qualified as a team member.  A minimum of 10 runners will qualify from each Region.  Regular math rounding (.5 & up – round up; below .5 – round down) will apply based on WVSSAC Rules.

 

Entries:           All entries and team rosters must be completed on RaceTimeEntry.com.

                          Entry deadline is Wednesday, October 18, 2023, not later than 10:00 am.

                          Coaches may enter a maximum of 10 athletes for the regional meet.  However, a maximum of 7 athletes may run in the race.  All athletes entered on your roster MUST be on your eligibility certificate.  All entries must include grade level/class for each athlete.

 

Entry Fees:     $25.00 per boys’ team and $25.00 per girls’ team.    A $5.00 per runner fee for those with less than a full team.    A full team is considered 5 runners or more.   Make checks payable to Shady Spring High School.  Fees are to help pay for the Individual Awards, Official, a Results Timing Company and meet-management costs.

 Concession:    Concession will be available on site, as well as T-Shirt sales.

Admission:       Adults:  $7.00             Students:  $5.00  -  Required by WVSSAC.
