The CLAY COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY TEAM would like to invite your team to the LKC CHAMPIONSHIP!

SCHEDULE:

3:00 pm -- Course Opens

4:30 pm – High School Boys 5k Race

5:15 pm -- High School Girls 5k Race

6:15 pm – Awards Ceremony

Awards:  Custom LKC Medals for the 1^st 24 finishers in each division.

The top 12 will make 1st Team All-Conference and will also receive plaques at LKC Banquet in May.

Placers 13-24 will make 2^nd team All-LKC.

 (The team championship trophies will be presented at the LKC Banquet.)

HS BOYS – John Duvall (2023) – Herbert Hoover – 16:47.8

Location:   The course is located at Dundon Baseball Field, across Dundon Bridge when entering the town of Clay.  The course will start at the ball field and continue onto the Elk River Trail out and back.

An alternate course will be utilized if needed. This race will use chip timing for scoring.  

We will have access to Restrooms and Concession Stand Provided by Athletic Boosters.

 DIRECTIONS:

From Wallback (Exit 34): Turn onto WV-36 towards Clay. Travel 7 miles. At the fork in the road, keep left onto WV-4. Travel 2.5 miles and turn right at the Go-Mart. Travel 1.2 miles, and turn left onto the bridge. At the end of the bridge, take the first right. Destination will be one mile ahead on this road.

Meet Information: There will be a $7 general admission fee for spectators. We will have spotters in all areas to help runners, as well as an athletic trainer available.

Entry Fees: There is NO ENTRY FEE FOR LKC CHAMPIONSHIP!

We will accept unlimited runners for each High School and Middle School team. However, please know that only the top 7 runners will be used for team scoring.
