Ty Steorts Nameds Named West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year

This had to be a close call between Ty Steorts and Winfield's Brayden Marshall, but it shook out with Hurricane's Ty Steorts getting the honor of being named the Gatorade Player of the Year for West Virginia. Steorts plowed through Class AAA competition all season long, capped by his 14 second win at the State Meet. Along the way, he also placed 2nd at the Adidas Challenge in Cary, NC in 15:00.1. He also narrowly missed joining Marshall at Champs Nationals, missing by 1 spot with a 15:04 time. He then went to the Garmin RunningLane meet and took 5th on a slopp course in 15:14.7.
