Winfield's Shawn Anderson was named the USTFCCCA Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year for the State of West Virginia. Anderson's Winfield boys team dominated the State Meet, taking the top 3 spots, 4 of the top 6, and 5 of the top 10, and winning the meet by an astounding 51 points with a low score of 22. Winfield's Brayden Marshall would go on to finish 5th place at the Footlocker National Meet in San Diego.

University's Ed Frohnapfel was named the USTFCCCA Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year for the State of West Virginia. Frohnapfel's University girls team put up quite a fight at the State Meet, falling to Morgantown by just 16 points while placing 3 girls on the All-State Podium, including 2 of the top 3.
