2023 WVSSAC AAA Cross Country Championships 10/24 Prediction & Analysis @ Cabell (Diff: 1.0000) With 6 runners projected in the top 20, it looks like Morgantown will have no problem taking their 5th consecutive team title. University also appears to have 2nd on lock, with their top 3 being in front of Cabell Midland's and Preston's whole teams. They show a bit of weakness in their 5 spot but it would take a lot of big moves from the other two teams to close the 40+ point gap. ========================= TEAM SCORES Morgantown 38 University 74 Preston 115 Cabell Midland 117 Parkersburg 136 Hurricane 155 St. Albans 213 Woodrow Wilson 239 Jefferson 241 Hampshire 245 Greenbrier East 247 Spring Mills 301 ========================= Coming in with 3 years of state meet experience, Madeline Gump is a solid pick for the individual title. Her biggest threat is likely 4th place projected Abigail Rogers who picked her off at their regional meet and is rounding out an impressive freshman campaign. Ella Hardin gets the nod for 2nd place. She has been consistently strong throughout the year and also poses a threat to Gump for the title. Adelyn Tager gets the 3rd spot after running a strong regional race, despite an injury plagued middle of the season. The 5-8 spots are separated by only 5 seconds, with Zoe Zervos, Hannah Phillips and Jennifer O'Palko having posted nearly identical regional performances. Sophie Renner comes in the 8th spot after a comparatively rough regional race, but has beaten many of the runners in front of her in other races. Coming off a regional performance where she beat Zervos, Renner and O'Palko, Maraid Johnson is another runner who could finish a few spots above her projected 9th. Neena McClintic gets the 10th spot, followed by Claire Von Boetticher. Laurel Johnson, Ramsee Menear and Abigail Torman, ranked 11th, 12th, 13th and 17th respectively. They all broke 20 at the state meet course at MSACs and could conceivably make a run for the top 10. *Runners marked "Top10 Contndr" have a performance on record from the past month that, when converted to the State Meet course, would place them in the top 10.
